It was never a shrine, it was an afterthought and now it’s a dump. The Yankees failure to preserve almost nothing from the original stadium is a sin against the game and their history.
In Yankee Stadium's shadow is a city park. Made as a shrine to Yankee history.
The park, however, has sunk into decrepit disrepair. Uneven fields, trash everywhere.
"(Its neglect), in the shadow of immense wealth, is a visual tale of two cities."

FYI, Florida's core (players locked up through at least 2029-30) only has 2 players that are older than 30 right now: Jones (31) and Marchand (38). Don't know where the "aging core" thing comes from when everyone is in their prime. The window to win Cup #3 is wide open.

Italy's World Baseball Classic team wears suits to games, drinks espresso after home runs and plays Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" as the victory song. They're perfect.

Italy manager Francisco Cervelli on the impact HOF manager Joe Torre made on him with the Yankees, having his WBC players wear suits to the games:
‘He taught me so much: how to be elegant, respectful and be a Yankee. So that's what I'm trying to do here in Italy. Italy, it's culture, it's elegance, it's art. So my guys, they dress well every day. They respect this. This is the highest level in the world. So why not create a tradition of, like, a Joe Torre tradition, that is respect this game and be a professional inside and outside the field.’’

Sinner is next level
We’ve won in rugby
We’ve won in baseball
We’ve won 30 Olympic medals
Yet the whole country is mad because the national football team still hasn’t qualified for FIFA

Love this for Vinnie. The captain finally hits a dinger and tastes espresso. It was his idea to glorify the espresso machine as a home run prop. ☕️ Forza. 🇮🇹 #WBC
