⚡️ Statement by the Embassy of Russia in Ireland (October 23, 2026)
The much-publicised discussion in Ireland of the issues with the “Triple Lock” legislation and Irish neutrality includes continuing references to Russia made by the leaders of the Irish government, which contain unfounded allegations, as well as misrepresentation of the way the UN Peacekeeping mechanism works.
In the course of the debate in the Dáil on October 21, Helen McEntee, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Defence, strongly objected to the current “Triple Lock” legislation on the grounds that it presumably allows Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, “to have a say over which peacekeeping missions we can send our troops to”, or even to veto Irish participation in such missions, and that ostensibly does not sit well with the Minister who believes that Russia is “attacking European member-states, including Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland”.
We strongly believe that any decisions on the matters of neutrality or any other policy matters are sovereign issues to be discussed and decided solely by the Irish government and the Irish people. At the same time, it is obvious that such decisions – whatever they are – should not be made under false assumptions, which is exactly the case with the Minister’s statements. Contrary to her assertions, the UN Security Council does not vote on what countries take part in a peacekeeping mission – its composition is agreed in the course of multilateral consultations conducted by the UN Secretariat and the interested UN member-countries. Also, there is no known record of Russia being against Ireland’s participation in any UN peacekeeping mission. Consequently, the allegations by Minister McEntee are reprehensible and misleading, grossly distorting the substance and the meaning of procedures provided by the UN Charter.
❗️In the same manner, the Minister’s speculations over Russia’s “attacks” on the EU countries are totally baseless, dangerously provocative and unacceptable. This kind of rhetoric is unthinkable for any responsible member of a government.
It is regrettable that the Irish government has chosen to deliberately question the workings of the UN – despite its much-advertised commitment to the central role of the UN in the international order – with the aim to promote domestic policy agenda. It is also incumbent upon Irish leadership to realise that exercises in Russophobia cannot make up for a serious failure in its approach to relations with Russia and issues of peace and stability in Europe.

Brenda Power is a rare voice of moral clarity amongst the Irish commentariat on this issue. In under a minute she eviscerates Ireland’s hypocrisy.
‘There wasn’t a single peep of protest to the Irish cricket team voluntarily playing Afghanistan last month, where women are treated worse than battery chickens. It is the most extreme humanitarian crisis in the world right now, as far as I can see, the gender apartheid in Afghanistan. Not a word of protest.’
‘Where was your indignation when we played [Afghanistan]? England wouldn’t play them, South Africa wouldn’t play them, New Zealand wouldn’t play them. The great humanitarians in Ireland had absolutely no difficulty. We’re hypocrites.’

🚨 HOLY CRAP! President Trump just called out the UN globalists for attempting to FORCE mass migration to the west
"With your CEASELESS promotion of mass migration, these globalists are actively DESTROYING the greatest cultures and most extraordinary heritage in all of history."
"They want the worst people to come in from the WORST places on earth and we don't do it anymore."
"There is NO HUMAN RIGHT to illegal immigration, but there is a right to remain a SOVEREIGN NATION."
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. TORCH them, 47!
RE-MIGRATION NOW!

The Indian Irish Medical Association is demanding Ireland dilute its medical registration standards for Indian interns at the very moment India faces massive fake degree scandals.
Patient safety cannot be compromised.
We cannot lower standards when fraudulent credentials pose real risks to Irish hospitals. We are repeatedly told that the influx of foreign doctors is “holding the health service together.” but all I see is 82% of doctors sanctioned in Ireland being foreign born and foreign trained.
This purposeful oversight is a dangerous falsehood that excuses the failure to properly train and retain our own Irish graduates.
The throwaway claim that “diversity adds value” is empty rhetoric that masks a policy of replacement instead of investment in Ireland’s people.

Life expectancy measures wealth and demographics, not health infrastructure which is in here. Ireland has the highest bed occupancy in the OECD, 43% fewer beds than the EU average, 900,000 on waiting lists, and 75% of GP lists closed to new patients. Education attainment is high yes, but 35,000 of those graduates emigrated last year because they can't afford to live here. The graph measures what the state builds and delivers, not outcomes that succeed despite it.

The protests in Ireland are not about just fuel! They are about the distance between Ireland on this graph and every other modern and developed economy. Ireland is second wealthiest but gets waaaaay less than any other country for that wealth. By a golden mile.
That visual gap in this graph? That’s what people are protesting. It’s a lack of infrastructure and the everyday enshittification of services, the economy, and the additional difficulty of trying to live, relative to peers in any other country. It also highlights why people don’t get uniformly listened to! - because there is no government architecture to engage meaningfully across this huge gap.
That gap is a three hour drive to work in traffic, a 14 month wait for an MRI, buses that don’t arrive, trains that don’t exist, schools that have no places for your kids, houses that are unaffordable, pubs that close before midnight, €12 sandwiches, expensive fuel.
People feel this gap, even if they can’t explain it precisely. And that builds into resentment, and ultimately protest. Fuel just happened to be the next thing that could be pointed to, today.
Fair play to whoever she is !! Spot on!
