🚨 STRONGEST STORM ON THE PLANET: Satellite views of Super Typhoon Champi continue to impress as the storm churns in the Pacific. The category 5-equivalent storm peaked in strength with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph, tying Super Typhoon Sinlaku as the strongest storm on Earth in 2026 by wind speed.

I’m also hearing that the Israeli interrogators did not ask Brad Lander what his preferred pronouns are.
I’m shocked by this extremely troubling and bigoted behavior.

Brad Lander went all the way to Israel hoping that he would get a photo op to show he's being oppressed by the Israeli government, and the best he could do is a sad face picture on an air conditioned bus passing a security checkpoint.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Brad.
As a Floridian,
Typhoon Champi looks a bit scary… I don’t think I would be staying in the path of that Storm! 🌀

I am not Jewish. But I am a proud Israeli citizen. I live in Tel Aviv. Despite the world having extremely opinionated views about the country I live in, few people I have come across on X (that don’t live here) know little of substance about Israel apart from their warped sense of history and reality. This is the first post of a series I will write entitled Everything You Think You Know About Israel is (Probably) Wrong. The points are not in any particular order. Spread the word.
Most Israelis (just over 50%) are not white. The devastating impact on European Jews of the Holocaust meant that the newly formed Israel in 1948 was largely populated by Jews fleeing persecution in Muslim-ruled countries predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa. These are known as Mizrahi Jews and when the State of Israel was formed they made up 80% of the Jewish population living here.
Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel since around 1208 BCE, that’s 3,200 years — long before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Muslim faith, in contrast, dates back 1,400 years (610 CE). Yes, when they lost majority rule in the 7th-century Muslim conquest they were not in the majority for centuries, but still lived in their ancestral homeland.
Arab terrorism against Jews existed before 1948. In 1929, for example, 67 Jews were killed in the Hebron massacre, attacked and slaughtered by the Arabs they lived and worked beside. My wife’s great-grandfather Ben-Zion Gershon (who was a local doctor that often treated the Arab community without accepting payment) was tortured, had both his eyes gouged out and was then murdered. This was after his daughter Esther was raped in front of him, and his wife Zahava had both arms chopped off and was left to die. This was just one of many similar massacres inflicted on Jews that day.
I will continue this series over the coming days.

To all the “purists” hating Junior Caminero for celebrating his home run and then shouting “This is for you, Tampa!” Stop being simple minded. It was more than “just a home run.” It was for what we’ve been through after Helene and Milton. #RaysUp

He says Israel is NOT our ally. NOT our ally. Look, hate Netanyahu all you want, oppose the current Israeli government all you want, but if you don’t believe Israel is our ally, you don’t belong in the U.S. Senate. No Jew in Michigan who supports the state of Israel should vote for him. He just plain hates Israel. Fuck him.
Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed shared his views on U.S.-Israel relations, saying he does not consider Israel an American ally: “I think it’s time for us to realize that Israel is not actually our friend.”

Analyst: Could Arch Manning transfer to (University of) Miami?
.@PriscoCBS: "If Arch goes back to school... I don't think he should go back to Texas if Sark is the coach."
@RanCarthon: Arch Manning to Miami?

My national championship contenders:
Ohio State, Texas Tech, Georgia, Ole Miss, & Miami (if healthy!)
I think Texas Tech, BYU, & Utah are very good teams that most underrate and Wake Forest and Arizona are better than most even know about!
As a Miami fan, if FSU fires Norvell, it’s good for Miami!
Norvell actually can coach and eventually right the ship.
FSU will have to go big afterwards and we all see who is potentially out there and nothing they will hire is a positive move for them. So FSU please Fire Mike!
