Student Health Services are a key care provider for college & university students. In this study of New England schools led by Dr. Samantha Rawlins-Pilgrim 1/3 did not offer #PrEP, indicating a large missed opportunity for #HIV prevention:

Dr. Rawlins-Pilgrim, now @BHCHP, led this study as a resident in our HIV Pathway @BMCimRES @The_BMC after caring for a patient who had barriers to seeking #PrEP through his school's student health services: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…
With thanks to @AlyseWheelockMD @cjstreed @douglaskrakower , Margaret Higham, and our patient for sharing his story and advocating for others to have the PrEP care he didn't.

Incredibly proud of @pauljchristine and work showing that 72H #methadone for opioid withdrawal in our #SUD #BridgeClinic associated with decreased #ED utilization over 8 mo @GraykenBMC @The_BMC @BMCAddictionMed @SocietyGIM #SGIM23
Replying to @pauljchristine
@pauljchristine poster showing that 72 hr methadone decreases ED visits in population that is very high ED (20-30 visits per 100 individuals per MONTH) utilizing at baseline #SGIM23
#BridgeClinics have been a critical innovation, lowering-barriers to #MOUD, other #SUD treatment and harm reduction services through on-demand care. We reviewed bridge models, evidence, and future directions @DrSarahWakeman @AlexanderWalley @drlaurakehoe doi.org/10.1186/s13722-023-0…
The Faster Paths bridge clinic @GraykenBMC @The_BMC has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my work and opened doors to innovation, advocacy, and teaching. With gratitude to all of the bridge clinic colleagues out there!
