Became a National Champ this past weekend at the 10k Road Champs (@CowHarbor10k). 🥹🐮
Until this year, I had never competed in an Olympic Trials or won a US title.
A win & course record was a special way to end this racing block before the @nycmarathon. 1/

🗣️ “It also would’ve been really weird to wake up at home, feed the dog and go run the Olympic Trials… I think it’s good for me to fly somewhere.”
Following USATF’s announcement this week that the 2028 Olympic Marathon Trials will be held in St. Louis, Phoenix resident Jess McClain is on board even though her city is missing out. McClain finished 8th at today’s New York Mini 10K.

Per David Roche, “That also shows how important carbs are. Miss that bottle, and she misses 40 grams of carbs. That's not possible when history is on the line. She ended up averaging around 100 g/hr if we count the gel right before the race start.” Regarding Jess McClain

Teamwork makes the dream work 🤝
Before Susanna Sullivan (@susannasullivan4) boldly began front-running her way toward a fourth-place finish in the #wchtokyo25 marathon, she and @brooksrunning teammate Jess McClain (@jesstonn) stuck close together and shared words of encouragement that also supported Jess on the way to her eighth-place finish in Tokyo 💙
Who said running isn’t a team sport?!

Best to collect data from workouts; effort, speed, rest, etc… then use it to adjust your workout or the next workout. Dont collect data just to post it on social media. USE IT. On yourself!

One key differentiator for elite performers?
They don’t see it as a sacrifice.
Going to bed early, skipping the party, putting in hours of practice—
That’s not giving something up.
That’s living in alignment with what they care about most.
