When will we learn?
Sara Sharif's horrific murder raises many questions about the Social Care system. She was known to social services and was placed with her father, who had a history of domestic abuse. Another awful case of a child tragically failed by the system. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvge…

Aside from reiterating the importance of days like these, dedicated to reducing harm through education, I want to thank @JessLaneOneEd and @RachelFosterOE for making me feel so welcome, and to the lovely person (sorry I can’t remember your name!) who helped with tech/sound.
It really makes a difference when to be greeted with such warmth and empathy - and to be offered tea, coffee and pastries 🥐! I felt immediately relaxed, nerves disappeared - and I enjoyed being on stage. The audience was very engaged and receptive. A lovely, warm crowd… I wish I’d had teachers like you!
