🎶Conductors are an integral part of many musical ensembles, and their movement patterns have been shown to be very repetitive and rely heavily on non-neutral postures in the upper limbs. 🎵

ALT This image is a brief description of my thesis project titled "A descriptive analysis of the upper body movement patterns of conductors." It includes photos of the motion capture system used and shares that data (joint angles) were collected using a portable motion-capture system bringing the science right into the participants' regular rehearsal space. It also includes two graphs displaying the large amount of repetition and time spent in non-neutral postures.
Curious about what this research looks like in real time? Check out this video of @maestrofranz conducting the @WindsorSymphony 🎻through a section of Nimrod from Enigma Variations – featured in their 23-24 concert season!🎺
