I’m not someone who thinks we should be ratcheting up sentencing across the board… but I really do think we need to look at sentencing for viewing child abuse imagery online. These are real crimes with real - child - victims.

.@BBC insisting on reporting racist rioters as 'protestors' and 'demonstrators' is a gross misrepresentation of the violence impacting communities of colour across the UK. Language matters.
“Protests”. You keep saying “protests” @BBCNews - do you mean white supremacists are on the streets terrorising Muslims? What exactly are they “protesting” against?

ALT A series of 5 star reviews for Hell Jumper from newspapers in the United Kingdom. A quote reads: "Paddy Wivell's film about the volunteers who risk their lives to evacuate citizens trapped in Ukraine was a masterclass in storytelling." At the top of the image, a man stands in a warzone, looking to camera.

The craziest thing to me, having experienced constant sexual harassment (down to literally being followed, physically accosted, having to change my route home) as a teenager in school uniform, is how much less I got as soon as I hit my 20s, and definitely 30s

The number 38 represents the 38% rise in reported domestic abuse cases when England's men’s football team loses a major tournament. Reported cases increase by 38% when England lose and by 26% when they play - a statistic unchanged for a decade.

It’s one thing for social media cretins to share this woman’s name but the journalistic ethics of a national paper doing it…unjustifiable! I hope she sues.
(redacted her name even though it’s v easy to find as on principle, I don’t want to share it)

Commissioners love to ask "Why now?" "Why do we need this script now?" Like I don't know pal, why do we need a 5th series of Mrs Browns Boys? Why is now a good time for another series following a well known comedian going on holibobs with his mum? I'm going to screeaaaammm
The most unexpectedly, viscerally life-affirming peice to read on a very grey Sunday. Thank you for sharing @bennylauren

From Miriam being "revealed" as a transgender woman to contestants trashing the set, it was the cruellest reality show ever. I wrote about There's Something About Miriam, the tragic fallout and why it was a TV low theguardian.com/tv-and-radio…
Very proud of all the clever, brilliant people that have made this. A great idea from @joefowler50 , then made by the MEGA talented @markcooperjones and @lunedtonderai . Monday at 9pm, please watch !
Like most who saw it, I've never forgotten the 2004 reality show There's Something About Miriam. And so it was a privilege to work with such an amazing team on a documentary series about that show, and the life & death of its star, Miriam Rivera. It starts on @Channel4 Monday 9pm
I thought Baby Reindeer was extraordinary in many ways, but haven't been able to stop thinking about the moral complexity of it being a true story. Particularly following everything that's happened on Twitter the last few days. This is a really interesting peice @JNRaeside
