Quick headspace change, from Wonderland @Opera_North to sci-fi/horror @RoyalOperaHouse. I'm exploring the role of Rose, a teenager on a mission to rescue her friend Ash from The Wild in a new opera by @LJBcomposer and @s_redway, currently in R&D. So much fun! 🤩 #NewMusic #Opera
Toi toi toi #WonderlandRestored team! First performance in the Howard Assembly Room tonight. It's a gorgeous show! @Opera_North @Opera_North_Ed @JuliaMariko @aimeefisk @JamesBaritone Cordelia Fish, Graham Russell, @RoxanaHaines, Nick Shaw ❤️⭐
So sad to say goodbye to my amazing year 13 vocal students as they go off on their adventures. What a bunch of legends. Can't wait for this lot to show up on the circuit in a few years! It's been a privilege and a pleasure, you guys. ❤️
When you leave 2 hours to complete a 1 hour journey in London, but will STILL be late because the trains are so unreliable. 1 cancelled, 1 late. Fuming. I'll leave 3 hours tomorrow, shall I? It's almost quicker to get here from Leeds!
Lovely to be back @Opera_North_Ed @Opera_North covering fabby @JuliaMariko (Alice) in Will Todd's 'Wonderland Restored'. First day observing today. The music is glorious - I can't believe I'm just discovering it now!
Google maps: 'what did you think of stage door at ROH?' Well, the door itself is lovely. Backstage, I'm helpless, and got lost between rehearsal rooms, of course! But if there's a theatre I don't get lost in I've yet to meet it. Is a sense of direction something you can learn?
I think this is the busiest June I've ever had. Two (brand new!) operas for me, and concerts every week for James. Some seriously fast memorising going on, and a lot of commuting 🥴🤩

I’m on the hunt for a FANTASTIC Assistant Company Manager at @Opera_North, to assist me in scheduling and managing a wonderful group of artists on a season by season basis. I’m looking for somebody with a deep rooted love for theatre and live music.

It's always great when a friend does something fab, and I'm so pleased series 2 of #NeuroticLiterature has arrived! These genius, unsettling stories stick around in your head long after the first hearing. Wonderful work, as always, Mr Lark.

What a privilege
Fabulous Daphnis et Chloé from @antonio_pappano @TenebraeChoir and @londonsymphony – a long time since I’ve heard Ravel’s masterpiece in concert #HalfSixFix
Daphnis and Chloe here we come! @londonsymphony and @TenebraeChoir sounding phenomenal and a huge privilege to be conducted by Antonio Pappano. Time to go onstage!
Finally, the conversation is starting properly! Thanks for the useful article and putting this information out there.

Really happy to have this feature in @thetimes today – it's about a subject we should all be less afraid of talking about. (1/2)
Busy couple of days! Jumping in to this tonight. Toi toi toi team ❤️
Toi toi toi soprano @JenAliceClark who this evening jumps in to sing the solos in Handel's Messiah for The fisher singers
Absolutely bursting with pride for my extraordinary
@Chethams
vocal students, who knocked their opera scenes out of the park tonight. Such energy, storytelling and beautiful singing. What an inspiring bunch they are. Bravi tutti!
Tagging the brilliant @MBJFarnsworth and @GenevieveRaghu who made it happen
Looking forward to this tonight - glorious music and a lovely team.
