A few years back @JeffMiers and Anita West held a series of vinyl nights at the Sportsmen’s Tavern and they showcased JT one night. I had no idea the tight connection the band had to Buffalo. Was lucky to score an OG tour poster that night.

It is with tears in our hearts and eyes that we share the news from Aston Barrett Jr. that his father our beloved friend, musical partner, bredrin Aston “Family Man” Barrett has made the transition from the physical world . Anytime we listen to the music pay close attention to the genius of Fams on the bass. A pioneer, unique, trendsetter ,revolutionary in the musical space and most of all as his name implies a true family man. Condolences to his family.
JAH comfort them in this time of grief. The legacy, joy and spirit of Fams lives on.

Interesting piece from @JeffMiers about the new Electric City going into Tralf space. Details about venue itself but, more interestingly, about the venue's ownership along with reactions from local booking agents and how it impacts live music in Buffalo. jeffmiersmusic.substack.com/…
