Good grief. Pick the most uncharitable interpretation of a man, then repeat that view until it becomes believable.
Can idol hunting become problematic? Sure. Can applying scripture to areas of our life and ambitions that need examination? Yes. Both can be true.

Sin always hides the price tag.
It never tells you what it will cost you.
Caleb Flynn committed adultery and then murdered his wife, Ashley.
At his sentencing, letters written by his 10 and 12-year-old daughters were read aloud.
Take a few moments to listen to them.
Let their words sober you about your own sin.
One Day soon, all our deeds will be exposed in another, much higher court.
Sin aims to blind you and keep you from turning to God.
Do not be deceived.
Do not give sin place in your heart.
As it has been said, “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.”
Flee to Jesus.

Good health and high income typically bring some happiness. But the one objective predictor is friendship—true and deep friendship.
Order your life accordingly.
"The only objective predictor of happiness that had a big effect was having abundant vs. negligible social support. People with a great many friends tend to be happy. People who are alone in the world, or who feel lonely, are generally unhappy." a.co/d/08nwlqGD

Replying to @jchasedavis
@jchasedavis Brother, I want to apologize for my treatment of you and your posts on X over the past numerous months. I have sinned against the Lord by not walking in a manner worthy of the gospel. 1/
You and I have different sensibilities and viewpoints on the role of the church and the pastor as it relates to the state. But that should not be the occasion for marring the relationship we have in Christ. 3/

Man, this clip is a flaming dumpster 🔥
of bad ideas.
As soon as you say you don’t want “board members” (are those elders?) representing the congregation or holding you accountable.
Yeah sorry, that’s just cult-like behavior
This is, without a doubt, satanic.

Earlier, I posted a video with commentary about the conversation below that I agreed with. However, I later learned about his broader views, which I do not want to promote or endorse. Reposting with a screen recording of the relevant commentary.
Josh McPherson: "We're here to govern, not Pastor."
Josh Howerton: "Ahhhh...That's important."
Josh McPherson "I get nervous with the word accountability. Because I think sometimes it can be a way where men with less courage control men who have more courage and they're afraid they're going to get them in trouble. The private shouldn't be able to tell the lieutenant where we go."
The defining feature of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is Apostle-governed churches where you have one man (whether they use the word Apostle or not) at the top who directly "hears from God" in order to lead and direct the church.
This is exactly it. They are telling you. They are literally saying it out loud.
Friends, if you are in a church that is led this way, you are in a very spiritually dangerous situation. I'm saying this because I care about your soul. I pray you find wisdom to see clearly and find a church that has biblical leadership in place.

Michael Scott thought he could declare bankruptcy by yelling it across the office.
A lot of the Christian nationalism conversation works the same way: Say it loud enough, post about it often enough, and surely it becomes real.
It doesn't.
I explain why the Christian nationalism conversation has run its course in my latest @WNGdotorg column.

It is 100% right to oppose hatred of "white" people--the church must do so, for no person of any ethnicity or skin color should be hated.
It is 100% right to oppose white supremacy, kinism, and ethnonationalism that argues that national identity is synonymous with a skin color.

“Too many try to climb the social-media ladder in the effort to build a brand, platform, and reputation but then have nothing substantive to say. Such "theo-logians" are bottom-feeders or babblers (spermologos; see Acts 17:18).”
