I rarely take to X anymore, but the clean energy crowd still hangs out here I guess, so here goes... here's why BAJAA Title IV’s project certainty provisions are dangerously sloppy and an insane transfer of power to Trump and corporations.

Flegal also argues: "using PERMITTING to slow fossil fuels is a bad strategy." Maybe this dismissive attitude toward permitting explains the tunnel vision that created such a mess out of Title IV. We shouldn't rewrite permitting laws without reminding why they exist...

Permitting is a responsibility placed by congress on federal agencies to protect public interest before corporations impose their will through eminent domain, air pollution, water pollution, and other harms. It is not a strategy. It's a check on unbridled corporate power.

Americans shouldn’t have to worry about the safety of their air, water & food. They rely on EPA to do its job by setting & enforcing safeguards against toxic chemicals & pollution. But the Trump admin is weakening these protections at our expense. safernotsicker.org

When @RepJoshHarder just asked about EPA's rollback of toxic mercury protections, @epaleezeldin says the health impacts "could be zero" and ridicules Harder's data. Here's the analysis from EPA showing the 2024 rule would prevent thousands of pounds of mercury (Hg).@EnviroProtNet
