FLORIDA: Much needed win on the road. Took the fight to them. DL got after it. Missed a few runs in the perimeter early but adjusted. DL disruptive. 3rd down def great. Got into backfield to change run game. Impacted QB. Pressures got home. Forced QB off his spot. Got to the ball. Took it away. 11 TFLs shows dominance. 11 affected the game. 5 played downhill. Got inside zone going later in the game. Short on a few shot plays. QB run got nice chunks. QB showed toughness. Made nice throws. Minimized risks. 2 was a big help in different spots on off, showed versatility. Patience in run game showed. Formations & motions helped steal yards. Dominated TOP. Impressive bounce back.

Doing some prep for the podcast and well, this is Florida’s toughest test for the offense yet. Texas is 12th Nationally in total defense.
For reference Auburn is 80th as of right now and Ole Miss is 109th. Missouri is 29th and Carolina 58th.

Through six games, Florida ranks 131st nationally in passing yards allowed.
Across eight pass-defense metrics, Florida ranks no better than 79th in any of them.
Even accounting for defensive-back recruiting talent, this is Florida’s worst underperformance since at least 2016.
You don’t get credit for culture, accountability and intensity because they sound good in January. Eventually they have to show up on Saturdays.

From 1990-2019, only Ohio State and Alabama fielded more top 20 defenses than Florida.
Florida hasn’t had a defense finish in the top 50 this decade: in either total defense or success rate defense.
