@JasonKnightRI won tonight’s RI AG debate hands down. He showed he’s the progressive in the race who can stand up to Trump and he pulled no punches contrasting himself with Joe Solomon who voted against Knights assault weapons ban. This race ia up for grabs…watch out for JK!

In 2020, NY state passed the “protect our courts act,” banning ICE arrests in our state courts unless ordered by judicial warrant.
This DOJ sued NY state, alleging the law was unconstitutional, and lost.
Today, the @RIHouseofReps voted to make “protect our courts” law in RI too

ICE operation caused a stir in Warren. Only evidence of a criminal charge in RI is from 2012, dismissed by a judge. ICE declined to provide case numbers for others alleged in official statement.
Here's what we know about who was detained.

A new law sponsored by @Rep_Jason has updated the state’s “revenge porn” law to include content generated using artificial intelligence to impose a person’s likeness onto sexually explicit material.
“Victims of technically enabled sexual exploitation have no involvement in the making of any of this material and of course, gave no consent. Once the images are shared, there’s no way to take them back, so the harm is permanent. Celebrities and politicians have been targeted by this practice for several years, and now the technology is so widely available that average citizens are also being victimized,” said Rep. Knight. “Without question, deepfake porn is a heinous criminal act, and it should be subject to the laws that prohibit the distribution of sexually exploitative material.”

I'm grateful to @Rep_Jason, who has sponsored or cosponsored an assault weapons ban every year since 2018, and was key in getting this passed. bit.ly/4kRaQ8P
