BTC is "Bitcoin" only because a group of centralized exchanges gave it that ticker. In other words, it was fixed. A few dozen people decided that the Segwit fork would be "BTC" and the version that worked the way Bitcoin had always worked would become an "altcoin."

There seems to be two ways to stand out as a software engineer... 1) Be distinguished, an absolute technical monster 2) Prioritize product over code What's interesting is #2 is a mindset, but most engineers would rather grind out #1
