Come see what's happening in South Lake Tahoe this weekend. 👀
Weather is going to be perfect for outdoors activities!

my hot take: vibe coding isn't killing software engineering.
the final mile is still the hardest piece.
AI can get you the killer feature surprisingly fast.
then you hit the boilerplate..
auth
payments
migrations
deployments
security
“why does this only break in prod?”
That’s why I open-sourced the stack I’ve been using:
crimsoncowlabs.github.io/coo…
What’s been the most painful part of getting your AI-built app into production?
#buildinpublic #ai #saas
open source is has always been kind of insane.
but have you tried open source with ... claude?
i fell down a GitHub rabbit hole and realized you could build this TODAY:
open a web app on your phone and say:
🎙️ “research $NVDA. figure out what changed this week, find anything interesting, and make me a 60-second video.”
then:
1️⃣ OpenWhispr handles the voice input.
2️⃣ OpenStock pulls market data, company info, news + sentiment.
3️⃣ LangChain + LangGraph orchestrate the research workflow.. calling tools, gathering context and deciding what to investigate next.
4️⃣ OpenMontage turns the research into a narrated video with charts, visuals, music + captions.
5️⃣ cookiecutter-ai-saas ties the whole thing together.. frontend, API, auth, Postgres, Redis, agents, Docker, TLS + deployment.
then the app sends the finished video back to your phone.
you watch it.
“looks good. post it.”
done.
🤯
and the crazy part?
you don't need some new AI hardware device.
the device is already in your pocket.
📱 Phone = interface
🎙️ OpenWhispr = voice
📈 OpenStock = financial data
🧠 LangChain + LangGraph = orchestration
🎬 OpenMontage = content generation
🛠️ cookiecutter-ai-saas = application + infrastructure
All open source.
Projects:
🎙️ OpenWhispr

📈 OpenStock

🧠 LangChain

🛠️ My open-source AI SaaS starter
crimsoncowlabs.github.io/coo…
This is the part of AI that gets me excited.
Not another chatbot.
Take a handful of great open-source projects, connect them together, and suddenly you have a new product.
Voice → research → agents → video → publish.
I might actually build this.
What else would you plug into this stack? 👇
#buildinpublic #opensource #ai
Building in public update 🚀
I just launched the project page for my open-source AI SaaS starter:
crimsoncowlabs.github.io/coo…
I built this because I kept seeing the same thing:
You can vibe-code 70% of an app surprisingly fast.
Then you hit the boring 30%.
Auth.
OAuth.
Payments.
Database.
Redis.
TLS.
Deployment.
LLM plumbing.
Security.
So I packaged the stack I keep rebuilding into one open-source project.
⚡ Next.js
🔐 Auth + Google OAuth + magic links
🗄️ PostgreSQL + Redis
💳 Stripe
🤖 LangGraph + LangSmith
🧠 OpenAI / Anthropic / OpenRouter / Ollama
🐳 Docker
🔒 Caddy + automatic TLS
🛡️ Ansible deployment + server hardening
The goal:
Spin up a VPS → clone the repo → point your coding agent at it → build the thing you actually care about.
No database from X.
No auth from Y.
No hosting from Z.
No pile of glue code just to ship an MVP.
Still early. Still building it in public.
If you build with AI, I’d love for you to break it and tell me what’s missing 👇
⭐ Stars, issues and PRs welcome.

yesss! @mattpocockuk liked my post!
and hey I want to say great work.
your skills have transformed my development processes.
i feel less overwhelmed with context switching when I know each repo has 20+ tickets generated with insane amounts of detail.
if you don't believe me look at this: github.com/CrimsonCowLabs/co…
excited to try out the new skills released by @mattpocockuk 💥
v1.3 brings /pr, /implement-spec, and /retro youtu.be/BsJGo1wFTvQ?si=zzHF… via @YouTube
small but important observation from using claude code a lot: after ~40% context utilization, hallucinations feel way more common.
it’s like the model starts getting fuzzy before the window is actually full.
managing context is just as important as model quality when you’re building with AI.
curious if that matches what other people are seeing.
i add context size into my stats view. do you?👇
what a week!
shipped a client app on monday.
launched an open source project on tuesday.
now i need to get 1000 followers in the next 7 days.
let's connect!
hey builders 👋
i'm curious are you reading your AI code?
i haven't read a line of AI generated code since using @mattpocockuk skills. every ticket gets a comprehensive outline of what to build. agents pick up the work complete it then do an adversarial pass and code review.
💥💥 game changer.
and why i added it to my open sourced project.
i ❤️ @mattpocockuk skills
added them to my open sourced SaaS product launcher

Hot take 🔥
Most SaaS starters seem to assume you want:
Vercel + Supabase + other hosted services.
I went the other direction with my open-source starter:
🐳 Docker
🐘 Postgres
⚡ Redis
🔒 Caddy
🛠️ Ansible
🖥️ One VPS
But I’m genuinely curious...
Would you rather have the convenience of Supabase/Vercel, or own the whole stack?
What are the biggest pros/cons I’m missing? 👇
github.com/crimsoncowlabs/co…
I’ve been prototyping a bunch of apps lately and realized I was rebuilding the same stuff over and over.
So I cleaned it up and open-sourced it:
github.com/crimsoncowlabs/co…
It’s basically the starter I wish I had when building AI SaaS apps.
It has:
⚡ Next.js + FastAPI
🗄️ Postgres + Redis
🔐 Built-in auth, Google OAuth, magic links
💳 Stripe
🤖 LangGraph + LangSmith
🧠 OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Ollama
🐳 Docker
🔒 Caddy for TLS
🛡️ Ansible to deploy and secure the box
The main idea is to avoid needing a database from one company, auth from another, hosting somewhere else, and then spending a bunch of time wiring it all together.
Spin up a server, point your coding agent at the repo, and start building.
Still pre-v1, so there are definitely rough edges. Feedback and PRs are welcome.
