More often than not the code in research needs to be flexible (from pbp to aggregate level). If AI can get you answers but a) uses functions no one has seen before, b) you can't explain what's happening, and c) adjusting the code is more than a few line changes, what's the point?

This is Carter Jensen’s 6th career leadoff homer — all while playing catcher & this year
That’s two more leadoff homers as catcher in a career than anyone else in MLB history

Myles Straw’s baseball card collection belongs in a museum, one grail after another.
This is a story I’ve looked forward to writing all year, about Straw’s “semi obsession” and what these pieces of cardboard mean to us:

Jake Burger broke down the funny story behind how his 23 (!!!) swing streak was broken. ⬇️
Jake Burger’s 23 consecutive pitches swung at in 2023 is the longest streak by a non-pitcher in the pitch-tracking era (2008)
only longer, by a pitcher: Jorge De La Rosa, 25 in a row from 7/10-8/26 in '08
