Anyone have a reference stating SRs are used by practitioners to inform their practice or for policy makers to write policy? I will dig later, but if anyone has a good source for this type of statement, I’d be most appreciative. #Medlibs #SystematicReviews

Do OSF DOIs work? Everyone I've tried to day (in Firefox, Chrome, Safari) dumps me onto a Google search page where it searched the DOI but apparently didn't find the exact item it should be linked to. #osframework

Spencer Foundation, round 2. Submitted our intent to apply for our living systematic review. C’mon, Spencer, give us money! #livingsystematicreview #systematicreview

"Using Endnote Basic as a search engine, the PubMed database was searched (June 30, 2020) using each of the following phrases...." ALSO:

PubMed was the only database used because we believed that due to its wide breadth of articles and journals, which are mainly based on medical sciences, it would yield a representative sample of the available research on this subject.

I am yet again asking, pleading, entreating, beseeching, imploring, importuning, on my knees begging academics and researchers, for the love of God and all that is holy, to learn the difference between a systematic review and a literature review conducted systematically. Please.

Praise the goddesses that the tenure dossier I forgot all about evaluating is pretty straightforward.
Another: a comprehensive literature search that was consistent with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis guidelines (PRISMA; Moher et al., 2009) was conducted in three research databases (i.e., PubMed, PsycINFO, EBSCOhost).

Our PsycINFO is on EBSCOhost, and they don't list the 75 other databases that are included, like Children's Core Collection and European Views of the Americas (for a psych SR).
"The literature search was conducted in PubMed, PsycINFO, and Sociological Abstracts databases to ensure coverage....as well as to cover unpublished dissertations and theses included in the ProQuest database (in which PsycINFO is subsumed). "

Uh, no. PsycINFO is not subsumed by ProQuest at this institution (which is the institution of the paper's two authors). (Maybe they meant Sociological Abstracts, which we do carry on PQ.)
TFW you update your meta-analysis searches and one of your team’s other papers shows up in the results. 😎
#medlibs, in PubMed for SR searching, do you use [text word] or [title/abstract] (in conjunction with MeSH terms)? I was taught that [tiab] is sufficient, but am open to other views.

After years of believing PsycINFO completely includes PsycArticles, I just realized this isn't true. Based on APA FAQs and my test searches, PsycINFO indexes ALMOST all the articles in PsycArticles. #medlibs #systematicreview

Just followed my own advice not to underestimate what I can get done in ten or fifteen minutes. Got something irritating started. Now I can feel I can follow through until the task is done.
#medlibs, another Q. Are there other dbs that do automatic term mapping like PubMed does? None that I use regularly do so, even the ones with controlled vocabs like PsycINFO or ERIC (I don't have access to EMBASE so don't know about it).
