My flight from France was midair bound for Newark , NJ and is currently sitting on the ground in Albany , NY
Due to “indefinite equipment failure”, all air travel in the New York area is down until further notice.
What is this, Iraq? Are we living in the third world?
My plane today from Florida to Newark was diverted to Virginia.
We spend BILLIONS as a nation on total bullshit, but can’t keep our air travel running efficiently.

UPDATE: An Amtrak construction crew accidentally cut into a fiber line in New Jersey which caused a telecom outage and forced FAA to pause flights in the Northeast.
Right now:
- Flights are resuming at LGA and PHL
- Flights into EWR, JFK, and Teterboro Airport are paused
This incident underscores the need for additional funding to modernize aging infrastructure and prevent disruptions like this in the future.
Follow @FAANews for updates.

Bottom line— a circuit that was in line to be replaced failed. The back up system uses a fiber line was severed in what appears to be a construction accident somewhere between New Brunswick and Newark in New Jersey. Approx 600 feet of fiber got ripped out and severed per FAA.

That’s so dangerous on so many levels - especially for the reckless and careless driver.
Hey, @Delta I'm not a customer, but some dude in a beat up minivan and cut off tee shirt showed up at our home at 3 am frantically ringing the doorbell and getting pissed off when we wouldn't open the door. He left someone's lost Delta tagged suitcase. What do I do?
