I spoke to @JerichoWriters about being mentored by the brilliant Donna Freitas, finding an agent and the road to publication. More below!
‘To say that my novel benefited hugely from having a mentor would be an understatement’
We're delighted to share this interview with author Ania Card all about her journey from mentee to published author of the wonderful Above Us the Sea.

Find me in this week's @JerichoWriters newsletter talking about how having a mentor with Jericho helped me with my novel, writing craft and my confidence as a writer. Full interview here: tinyurl.com/uxxbvby5 @DeadInkBooks @LiverpoolLit

Discussing themes of friendship, desire and the body, we had a fantastic time last night listening to @aniacard & @aetwigg talk to Lara Williams about their brilliant debuts ABOVE US THE SEA and SPOILT CREATURES. Two of our fave books of the year, signed copies are available now!

Being an independent microbudget filmmaker means you get to green light your own projects without waiting for permission from a studio or corporation.

The arts can be a slog, leading to the regular rationing of the heating in winter, but we do this because we love it.
And because, well, we have to.
This is deserved recognition for two very fine actors @roisinrae and @BrooksLivermore for their performances in @finally_nearly, and director @JamesC_Card for pulling it all together.
Take a bow everyone.
.@roisinrae and @BrooksLivermore have received their Best Actress and Best Actor awards from #StockholmCityFilmFestival for their lead performances in Finally Nearly. We're so proud of them both.

To the indie filmmakers who are coping with film festival, grant, and fellowship rejections, remember this:
Rejection is only possible after showing up. You showed up, you put yourself & your art out there. That was BRAVE.
That alone deserves to be celebrated.
We ❤️ you.

Absolutely thrilled with not one, but two awards at the #StockholmCityFilmFestival this week, with wins for both @BrooksLivermore and @roisinrae as Best Actor Feature Film and Best Actress Feature Film, respectfully. Very well deserved. Two fantastic performances by our co-leads.

A new way to buy books and cool shit.
An independent bookshop from an independent publisher selling exclusively independent books.
RT and spread the word.

A lot of times, filmmakers think that when your film is done being edited, you’ve completed the filmmaking process.
Actually, when your film is done, you’re just getting started!
EP 12 is all about MARKETING YOUR FILM!!

There is a cheap version of film school that is just watching @criterionchannl for a year. See the narratives and the docs. And the more obscure international titles you've never heard of. When you find a film you love, study it. Watch it many, many times.

Excited to announce that our film is finally complete. Festival submissions have begun, and a shiny new trailer is here. Check it out for a first look at FINALLY NEARLY GETTING THERE

The 2010s had a lot of high profile movies – but here’s 50, from indie to mainstream, that perhaps deserves a bit more love
