We were talking about dialogue earlier, and it is such an important topic. There's nothing worse (for me) than exposition dumps, on-the-nose dialogue or just talking heads ... or when all characters sound the same. How do you test your dialogue? #scriptchat

The freeing thing about being an independent filmmaker as a hobby is that none of your projects are tasked with a performance or sales metric. You can create on your terms. You can create as quickly or as slowly as you want to. You are free.

There’s always going to be demand/desire for human-made art.
The stop-motion animation work behind LAIKA’s WILDWOOD (2026) is absolutely insane. 136 handcrafted sets, over 200 practical puppets and 49 animators working across 231 weeks, with some shots producing just 1–4 seconds of animation per week. @LAIKAStudios #Wildwood, #LAIKA_partner

SCREENWRITING 101: A flashback shouldn't exist simply to tell us what happened. It should help us understand why the character behaves the way they do now.🎬

I’m launching my own production company. It’s called 11:59. My mom used to call me that as a kid because I’d always pull off impossible things at the last minute. I always loved the sound of that. Also, today is her 75th birthday and I thought this would be a funny way to tell her. eleven59.com

Don’t spend time writing million-dollar projects and then wondering why you can't make them. Start by writing something you can easily fund & expand where u can. Limitations aren't something to deal with after you’ve written the film. They're part of how u approach making one.
