Beware of “uncoordinated olive harvests”.
Is @bradlander a provocateur? Absolutely. Did he come looking for a spectacle to burnish his far-left credentials? Without a doubt.
Was the IDF justified in removing him from an area where an uncoordinated olive harvest was taking place? Yes. But did doing so play directly into his hands? Also yes (just google his name and see the number of articles all over the world).
We can argue all day that Lander was wrong and Israel was right, but that misses the point. In his political circles, he is now the victim of Israeli aggression, which is exactly the image he came looking for. Israel should have known better than to give him what he wanted.

President Trump again uses the antisemitic slur "shylock".
The Anti-Defamation League doesn't even name him in their criticism.
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.

Trump used “Shylock” at a Kansas rally Oct. 19 defending Sen. Marshall. ADL’s post omits naming him, unlike its 2025 statement.

"These elections are fateful for our future: it's either right - or Palestine."

"Each incident is being thoroughly investigated"
I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday.
As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh.
I expressed my deepest sorrow to Heidi and apologized for what she went through.
The despicable behavior of the perpetrators of this attack does not represent the citizens or the values of the State of Israel.
Israel is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and it must act with full force against every form of violence. Each incident is being thoroughly investigated, and we await the findings.
All government, security, and law enforcement authorities must use every means at their disposal to investigate thoroughly, apprehend these lawbreakers, and bring them to justice with the fullest extent of the law.
On behalf of the entire nation, I wish Heidi good health and a speedy recovery.
It reads like a quote from a pro-Palestine protester, but it's a quote from the Israeli Defence Minister.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Lebanon:
Look at what is happening in Lebanon.
Today, more than 60 villages in southern Lebanon, beginning with those adjacent to the border, and beyond that, throughout the entire security zone up to the Yellow Line, an area of 700 square kilometers, are destroyed.
All the villages have been wiped out. Twenty-three thousand houses, all destroyed, demolished.
I am not even talking about what is underground, about the tunnels. Everything has been destroyed.
There are no residents there. Two hundred thousand residents are outside.
This is the Gaza model. And this is the model we are implementing.

This has a name: state-sponsored terrorism and ethnic cleansing.
Masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers on Friday, setting olive groves on fire and slinging rocks.
Caught in the attack was Post photographer Heidi Levine. “They just kept kicking me and kicking me, like probably 50 times,” Levine said. wapo.st/4yt6dHY

All you need to know: 500 words. Zero arrests.
The IDF strongly condemns the severe act of violence that took place in the area of Taybeh, during which diplomatic representatives were attacked by Israeli rioters.
Police forces and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are entering the area accompanied by IDF soldiers and will begin collecting findings and evidence, as well as taking testimonies, in support of an investigation that has been opened.
The consulate's visit was not coordinated with the IDF. Such coordination is important to prevent incidents of this kind.
According to a preliminary inquiry, no IDF soldiers were present at the scene at the time of the attack. The report was sent to the brigade operations room, which is designated to receive reports from security personnel only, and not from civilians. The operations room receives dozens of operational reports each day and responds only to authorized personnel, not civilians. It should be emphasized that other designated channels are available for civilians to submit complaints. All circumstances surrounding the incident will be examined.

Another case of the Israeli Army claiming they fired at a Palestinian running at them "posting a threat" who turns out was running away from them & unarmed. Unfortunately for the IDF, the NYT was on the scene to document the truth. nytimes.com/2026/10/16/world…
Only in Australia can a guy with a Francophile Maronite name bemoan the presence of Chinese without realising the hypocrisy.
The idea that radicalisation in Palestine is primarily driven by school books over the experience of children having immediate family jailed/killed etc is so naïve.
The reason we now have peace in Nth Ireland/Sth Africa etc is not because they changed their syllabus.
These books shown were seized from schools in Gaza during the war. The material raises a question every plan for Gaza’s future must confront: how do you undo years of indoctrination?
Hamas has worked to embed its ideology far beyond its armed ranks, reaching children who should have been protected from it. That influence will survive the destruction of tunnels and the confiscation of weapons unless there is a sustained effort to challenge what children are taught.
Gaza needs demilitarisation and deradicalisation. Rebuilding schools while leaving the teaching of hatred intact would help prepare the ground for another war. Palestinian children deserve the chance to grow up without being groomed to fight it.
