Our paper is out! In what way is the frontoparietal network domain general? We show it uses the same neural resources to represent the rules in both auditory and visual tasks but does so with independent codes doi.org/10.1162/IMAG.a.29
New paper in Imaging Neuroscience by Jade B. Jackson, Alex Woolgar, et al:

🚨New paper @brainstimj !⚡Using TMS-EEG & MVPA in a selec attention task, we show parietal alpha rh-TMS (entrainment) specifically and causally enhances spatial attention ('where' info) coded by ERPs & alpha power, but not 'what' info or visual features. brainstimjrnl.com/article/S1…

After more than 2 years getting this set up, it's very exciting to have the CBU's first human concurrent TMS-fMRI data rolling in! So grateful for the oustanding technical and MR support we are spoilt with. With @catrionascriv, @Jade_BJackson and @Runhao_Lu.

Do you use EEG positions to guide TMS? Check out this new paper with @catrionascriv! We highlight that brain regions under EEG electrodes are inconsistent across participants. Important to keep in mind when using electrodes to guide neurostimulation! 1/7 doi.org/10.1002/brb3.2476

Look at the exciting things we can do with concurrent TMS-fMRI! Stimulating prefrontal cortex leads to a reduction in coding of relevant information in the unstimulated frontoparietal network, providing causal evidence for a role in enhancement: rdcu.be/ckKim 1/5
Effective TMS reduced coding of relevant information but had no effect on coding of irrelevant information in the multiple-demand network, demonstrating a specific role of dlPFC in enhancing relevant information 4/5
These data emphasise the cognitive-neural insights possible with the inferentially powerful approach of TMS-fMRI. With huge thanks to co-authors @AlexWoolgar (@LabWoolgar) @evaferedoes (@evalabcouk) Anina Rich and Michael Lindner 5/5
