Very interesting map for understanding the current geopolitical dynamic in the Middle East.
Netanyahu showcased this map tonight during his address outlining Israel’s new security doctrine.
The map illustrates an emerging geopolitical realignment in the Middle East, dividing the region into 3 competing blocs.
A Sunni alignment centered on Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan.
An Iranian axis stretching through Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.
And an Israeli and Emirati strategic partnership, with a wider network of regional allies.
These are not necessarily formal military alliances, but a depiction of how regional powers are positioning themselves.
Turns out in addition to facing potential constitutional questions, UW's get out the vote operation is using some questionable marketing.
The Student Voters Union and "Se* Out Loud" are encouraging voters to "drag" themselves to the polls with the help of a "drag king."
The event is funded "in part by an Associated Students of Madison viewpoint neutral grant."
Check out @ReformingGovt's latest report on the UW-Madison GOTV operation at bit.ly/4ytxMki.
Outstanding analysis from @uwfederalist's Colin Burns (who is also a @ReformingGovt Fellow). There are serious constitutional questions that must be answered by UW's BadgersVote Coalition...

NEW REPORT: Who funds UW–Madison’s BadgersVote Coalition, and how is the money spent?
Our new report raises questions about private sponsorship and ties to election officials. IRG is calling for a full financial audit and legislative oversight.

With Planned Parenthood of WI now "ask[ing] Wisconsin courts to affirm the Constitution's promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" by bringing a "landmark" abortion lawsuit, the question remains - are the campaign promises like the one from Judge Brunette below a violation of SCR 60.06(3)(b)?
I think the answer is clearly YES. The PP case is not merely "likely" to come before #SCOWIS, it has already been filed in circuit court and almost certainly will be appealed to the Supreme Court.

Under Gov. @ScottWalker, Wisconsin agencies had clear public records standards, tracked response times and reported results publicly.
Under @GovEvers, those standards and the public dashboard were abandoned.
Now, transparency is suffering.

“Any requester that is forced to wait on a public records response is waiting for something the law already says is theirs. A years-long wait is simply a denial with a friendlier name.”

great op-ed by @JacobJCurtis @ReformingGovt. Too often, government fails basic transparency standards.
Check out @ReformingGovt's recent op-ed in the @journalsentinel. Unfortunately, some of WI's leading public officials and agencies fail basic transparency standards.
"Transparency fuels good government. Former Gov. @ScottWalker understood this, signing two executive orders that required state agencies to meet minimum standards for responding to and managing public records requests. Inexplicably, upon taking office, Gov. Tony Evers simply decided to ignore them."

I had the chance to thank some of the first responders who came to our rescue Saturday night.
The Wausau Fire Department reached us by boat and got us safely off the water.
I’ll always be grateful. Our first responders represent the very best of Wisconsin. 🇺🇸
Had a great opportunity last week to hear from Florida’s Governor @RonDeSantis and Congressman @TomTiffanyWI. They both talked about the importance of regulatory reform and a competitive income tax environment.
If Wisconsin wants to compete with FL, TX and TN, it needs to get serious about embracing an ambitious agenda on both fronts.
As a recent @ReformingGovt analysis pointed out - Wisconsin Lost More Than $400 Million in Tax Revenue in 2023 and $3.5 Billion Over the Past Decade as Residents Move Away.
Sound policy leads to economic and population growth (see FL). The opposite is also true…
