Y’all I want to share a HUGE win with y’all. I just finished my first TikTok Live and I’m happy to say I did $730 in sales in less than two hours. The craziest part? This was with an account that had 0 followers!! And guess what I sold? Even crazier… my leftover rugs. 😵‍💫 Yep, you heard that right! This was a clip from the live. Safe to say… I’ll definitely be going live again. 🚀

They always say, “Don’t meet your heroes, because they’ll disappoint you.” Well, yesterday proved that to be false. When I first started my reselling journey, one of the first goals I set for myself was to one day be a guest on Chris Koerner’s podcast. And there’s a pretty special reason why. @mhp_guy content was a huge reason why I started my entrepreneurial journey in the first place. His videos made a future I had always envisioned seem feasible. And his video with @hey_mindi about how she flipped a $1 pallet of books into thousands of dollars flipped a switch for me. Not long after watching that episode , I accidentally ended up buying 7 pallets of books… 🤣 Now a few months later, here we are. ————————————————— Yesterday, I got to not only meet Chris in person, but also be a guest on his podcast. Still feels surreal even typing that. I can’t thank him enough for having me on. He’s just as awesome as he seems on camera, and even more so. Also, side note, Chris is WAY taller and more jacked than I expected 😂💪 Special thanks to @kevinasrx and Mindy for helping make this happen. Can’t wait for the episode to come out so I can share it with everyone who’s been following my journey so far! 💙🙏🦆
When this dude was 2 years old he would hand with his mom at a farmers market in Mexico City, selling homemade soap. All of their daily sales would pay for 2 things: 1. Tomorrows inventory 2. Groceries One day, as a 2 year old, JV told his mom he gave all of their daily sales to a boy that needed to eat. And his mom was proud of him! 4 years later his dad got a work visa and they moved to the US. JV eventually went to Baylor and got a great job working as a restaurant manager. They loved him. Total rockstar. But months later he quit to start his own thing. Months after that and he’s doing 5 figures per month. He was supposed to start law school this month! Our episode drops next month on The Koerner Office. Incredible story and human. Follow @JVCocoDeals right this instant.

Halloween is right around the corner, so you already know we HAVE to do a candy show 😂🍬 Only problem… Nobody’s getting their candy until AFTER Halloween. We’re running the show this weekend, and shipping will take at least 5-7 days. Will that hurt sales? Honestly, I have no idea. But we’re gonna test it out anyways. Super excited to see how this one goes! I’ll be posting the results after this weekend’s TikTok LIVE. Let’s see if candy sells or it if fails 👀

A Buc-ee’s stop is non-negotiable on any Texas road trip! You already know I had to grab some sandwiches. The part I don’t love so much… Filling up the tank 🥴 I feel like it’s never going to stop. 🥹😂

Can you guess how many rugs are inside this box? 👀 For context, this is me standing next to it... and it’s almost as tall as I am 😂 Drop your guesses below. First person to get it right gets a $5 CocoGC on me🔥😳🦆

The back brace is officially back 😂 And honestly, I’m happy about it. Time to pack all the rugs we sold on TikTok last night. Plus a bunch of candy, because you already know we gotta have some with Halloween coming up. Rugs + candy. Who would’ve thought? 😂 Time to get these orders packed 🫡

My original plan for this partition wall was basically just “throw up a sliding door and call it a day” 😂 Good thing my dad had other plans. Here’s the latest update on the wall we’re building to separate the CocoDuck shipping area from the rest of the house. At this point, it genuinely looks like it was part of the original design of the house. The woodwork. The paint job. Everything came out WAY better than anything I would’ve built myself 😂 Huge shoutout to my dad for making it happen. I keep telling him once I retire him, our second business might have to be woodworking 😂 What do y’all think, could you tell the wall wasn’t originally part of the house? 👀
In order to hire my first employee, my parents gave me one requirement: They wanted their privacy 😂 Fair enough. So my dad and I are putting up a partition wall to separate the shipping area from the rest of the house. It’s not done yet, but here’s the progress. One more step toward turning this crazy operation out of my parents’ house into something a little more legit.

If y’all aren’t following Mindy yet, go give her a follow! She’s actually one of the people who helped kickstart my entire reselling journey. Her video in @mhp_guy ’s podcast about turning a pallet of books into thousands of dollars was a huge catalyst for me. Funny enough, the first inventory I EVER bought and sold was 7 pallets of books 😂 She just started a newsletter too, so go check out what she’s building. Awesome stuff 🙌
Ok, I am doing the dang thing. And I would really love your feedback. My next newsletter "5 places to find inventory that most new resellers overlook" is coming tomorrow. If you enjoy my content here, I think you'll find these a valuable add to your (very) light reading! Stay in the loop on everything I'm creating! Link below. hey-mindi.kit.com

Good news: Today I’m training my first employee. Bad news: I was supposed to be training two 😂 A few hours before they were supposed to start, one of my new packers called me. He’d gotten offered a manager position somewhere else. I think he expected me to be upset, but honestly, I was pumped for him. I told him congrats. Right now I can only offer part-time work, so if he found a better opportunity, that’s a win in my book. And weirdly enough... I think this might work out better for me too. This is my first time training an employee, and I was already wondering how efficient I’d be trying to train two people at once. Now I can train the first person, figure out what works, and bring on another packer in a week or two. By then, I’ll hopefully have the first packer trained who can help me onboard the next person too. Funny how things work out sometimes 😂 Did I respond correctly, how would you have reacted to that call?

Last weekend we had our biggest food show yet. We ended Saturday at: $1,800 in sales. 2.5 hours. 175 items sold. Most of them 5 second sudden death. And at least for some time, around 200 people were watching the LIVE. We were MOVING 😂 And somewhere after item #100... we messed up. One item got skipped, everything after it got mislabeled, so fulfillment yesterday was a pain 🥴 What should have taken hours took me the whole day to fix. But honestly, I’m glad this happened now. We’re just starting to ramp things up, and I’d rather find the holes in our systems at 175 orders than during a much bigger show later. I was able to fix most of them, but unfortunately some had already shipped out before I realized the mistake. I’ll be reaching out to those customers. Now I get to build the safeguards and systems so this doesn’t happen again. Every time we push a little more volume, we find something else that needs to be fixed. 175 items exposed this problem. Now we fix it and we try for 250. 🫡

A year ago today, I was fighting off a nasty birthday hangover while clocking into my 9-5 😂 Yesterday, I got to celebrate my 26th birthday taking this picture with my parents, the founding members of CocoDuck. I told them: “One day, this is getting hung up in our warehouse.” Crazy how much can change in a year. I’m building something of my own, and for the first time I’m starting to feel the financial freedom and independence I used to dream about. Still a LONG way to go, but man, I’m grateful. Best birthday gift I could ask for. ❤️ P.S. The dogs refused to be left out of the company photo 😂

Do y’all notice a common color theme here? 😂 Funny story, I ran out of the packing pillows I normally use today... With 70 orders still left to pack. Luckily, I had a bunch of packing paper I bought a while back and basically forgot about. Tore it up, crumpled it, stuffed the boxes, and honestly... I think I like it BETTER than the packing pillows. Way less work and it fills up a surprising amount of space. One of my favorite parts of entrepreneurship is stuff like this. You run into a problem, figure something out, and sometimes accidentally find a better way of doing it. Might be making the switch to paper 👀 Now I just need to find some light pink or cream packing paper so it can match the CocoDuck logo🦆🦆

Prime Day got me again 😂 Saw this Skittles variety pack on sale yesterday and figured it might be worth testing on TikTok LIVE. Only problem... I’m still deciding whether to sell it or keep it for myself. What do y’all think? Candy cash or personal stash? 👀

Today’s TikTok LIVE was a weird one. We maxed out at around 20 viewers, which is a fraction of what we normally see… And still did about $600 in sales. I’m not sure if TikTok was being weird or if starting at 10:45 AM was just too early. I’ve tested noon shows before and they usually do around 80% as well as my night shows. This one felt closer to 50%. Either way, good experiment. I’ve already made my money back on this pallet, so now it’s profit and good opportunity to keep working on improving the show and getting more reps in. One show at a time. 🫡

A customer won a bunch of drinks from my TikTok LIVE yesterday. This is how I packed it. Personally, I think it came out pretty stellar 😂 But I’m still figuring out the best way to pack bigger orders like this. My plan is to put some packing pillows and close it up. What do y’all think? Any packing tips or tricks I should know? 👀

It happened. I bought another rug pallet 😂 If y’all have followed me for a while, you know rugs are basically how I got started selling on TikTok LIVE. Funny enough, I haven’t bought a rug pallet in a while. Partly because fulfillment is a pain and my back was starting to hate me 😂 But also because I just hadn’t found a pallet I really liked. That changed yesterday. I found one packed with runners and smaller rugs, which are PERFECT for the way I like to run my LIVEs, so I had to get my hands on it. I get a lot of questions about how to start selling rugs on TikTok LIVE, so if you’ve ever been curious, come watch. If the shipment gets here on time, I’ll be running the rug show this Saturday. You can see exactly how I do it. 👀

One of my favorite parts of reselling is the ingenuity of it. I had 2 Harry Potter sets, but unfortunately the mugs in one of them broke during shipping. A lot of people probably would’ve written that one off. Yesterday on my TikTok LIVE, I sold the complete set first, then asked the chat if they wanted to see the damaged one too. They said yes. Crazy enough, the set without the mugs sold for almost as much as the complete one 😂 Sometimes the value is still there. You just have to figure out how to sell it.

Update on the partition wall: We’re at the polishing stage, so all that’s left after this is priming and painting. Safe to say we’re about 2/3 of the way there. Crazy part is I finished a 2-hour TikTok LIVE before even starting on the wall tonight 😂 My mom helps me with the LIVE my dad helps me with the carpentry. Sometimes I end the day wondering how I had time to get everything done. Then I remember I have two amazing parents helping me a long the way My family is 100% my competitive advantage. What’s yours?
In order to hire my first employee, my parents gave me one requirement: They wanted their privacy 😂 Fair enough. I just placed bids on 2 auctions for new inventory for my show. Both had the highest starting prices I’ve ever bid on. Can you guess what I’m trying to buy? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hint #1: I’ve never sold either category on my LIVEs before. Hint #2: One auction is 2 pallets. The other is 10!! Any guesses? Bonus points if you get both 👀
