Democrats’ attempt to codify the right to abortion went down 49-51. We should immediately drop a bill codifying the right to use contraception. Make Republicans vote on that one! Let’s go on offense for a change!

I feel like most of my Twitter feed is people who got up early to steal tweets and post them as their own. Dude. I see those tweets, too.

We CAN flip enough seats for a democratic majority in the Senate and we CAN make Roe law. We need to be loud, donate, and get voters out in the midterms.
Let's be crystal clear: your right to use birth control is on the ballot in November.

BREAKING: Chuck Schumer announces that Democrats will force a Senate vote next week to codify abortion rights into federal law — meaning Republicans who vote against it will have to put their radical anti-choice opinion on the record for all to see. RT IF YOU SUPPORT THE VOTE!

50 senators could preempt this decision tomorrow by ending the filibuster and enacting the Women's Health Protection Act.

Just a reminder that from 2014-2018, Elon Musk paid an effective tax rate of 3.27%. The average working family pays an average tax rate of 13%. It's time for a wealth tax in this country.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The denominator for the 3.27% tax rate includes unrealized capital gains. While they do represent wealth growth, capital gains are only legally required to be taxed in the U.S. when they are realized. Using only the denominator of taxable income, Musk's tax rate was ~27%. apnews.com/article/person…

The Denver program to send social workers instead of police (STAR) has responded to over 2,200 calls low-level/intox/MH calls. They have never called for police back-up due to a safety issue. Never. Think about that.

I’m hearing all of this from teacher friends. Plus governments banning books, restricting important content, demanding cameras in the classroom. I can understand why teachers are fleeing.
