Backlash from Labor's trust and small business pile-on is growing. Are you concerned about your seat @ClareONeilMP ?

Over-taxing talent can also lock down innovation... or send talent overseas. That's exactly what Labor's Capital Gains Tax impost is doing nine.com.au/australia-news/t…

I think you'll find that every dwelling under the 5% deposit scheme has 5% equity on the day it is bought. My point stands - Labor has lured a whole cohort of vulnerable borrowers into overleveraging and has subsequently rugged them with their Budget.

If you want to encourage investment then scrap your Capital Gains Tax imposts for Australians. It kills the after tax return for risking capital

I'm a swing voter and have previously voted Labor. Their Captial Gains Tax impost are horrible policy and kill the incentive to take risks and invest in growth assets. At this stage, I haven't decided who gets my vote, but it certainly won't be Labor xitter.cf/chrisbrycki/status/207…
What if I told you the government could now tax you at more than 100% of your real investment gains? It sounds absurd, but that's exactly what can happen. In this video I explain how it can happen, why it's an unintended consequence of the new capital gains tax, and the steps investors can take to reduce the impact.
If you own shares or ETFs, this is something you need to understand.

Under Labor, smoking has increased whilst illicit tobacco has exploded. Government excise collection has cratered. You can throw in a spate of fire bombings too. Well done

You have thrown many Australians into negative equity. And this reckless leverage is backstopped by the taxpayer. Awful policy 😡

Australians are miserable with Labor's economic management. We've also got Captial Gains Tax imposts next year. Time to vote Labor out !

Debt is $200 billion lower this year than what the Coalition left us.
Australia's gross debt as a share of GDP is substantially lower under us than what they forecast in 2022.
If the Coalition was in power right now debt would be approaching $1.2 trillion.
Our responsible economic management has delivered one of the three strongest budgets in the G20 and much lower debt to GDP than any major advanced economy.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Gross debt was around $900 billion when Labor took office in 2022. It has now exceeded $1 trillion. The “$200 billion lower” claim compares outcomes to 2022 PEFO forecast (~projected ~$1.17 trillion by 2025-26), not the actual debt inherited.

Yep. I am moving back to Japan mid next year…tax is not the sole reason, but it’s a huge contributor. Absolutely insane government policy that is totally destructive, counter-productive, and ideologically (not rationally) driven.
Good luck with Labor Australia 🇦🇺
Australia wins the award: highest effective CGT in the world. 🏆🥇A disaster for the Australian economy. Tax the winners at full freight, leave the losers with the investor, and the real rate on productive capital jumps to 65–80%. No serious economy does this. Capital is mobile. Founders and investors will leave.
What a pair of economic vandals @AlboMP & @JEChalmers are.
