VP Business Alliances & NASCAR @ UTI - former race car builder & tire changer for a few NASCAR hall of famers.

Mt Ulla, NC
Joined September 2014
This car was my Saturday debut as a NASCAR tire changer to prepare me for the @DAYTONA 500. Rules allowed only 1 pit gun. I would go around the back of the car, loosen RR, go change RF, come back and tighten RR then around to loosen the LR, go change LF then back and tighten LR.
Happy Birthday, Sammy Swindell!! 🎂

I whole heartedly believe @HmielSteve should be on the ballot for the @NASCARHall I worked with him back in the early 1980’s at Petty Enterprises. He’s a true racer and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Always treated me great and respectful.
Totally underrated badass @HmielSteve I’m so thankful he believed in me.

Wife cleaned out a closet, found a few of my old race uniforms, and said put them away. I went to my uniform container, found these two shirts. One was the great Wade Thornburg’s. Great memories from THE Petty Enterprise. Circa 1970’s @therichardpetty @kylepetty @TheSceneVault

At @UTITweet, students are getting hands-on training in the technologies and skills that power the American automotive industry through industry-driven programs that bridge the gap between education and high-paying careers. With trillions of dollars in new investments pouring into our economy under @POTUS, the same workforce development model that UTI uses to prepare students for high-paying careers can help build the workforce needed across the skilled trades. 📍Mooresville, NC

What an honor to host Secretary @Sonderling47 at our Mooresville @NASCAR campus yesterday. He’s a lifelong race fan and really knows the industry. We also learned he’s pretty good at running @roushyates engine on the DYNO! Thank you, Mr Sonderling and keep up the great work!
U.S. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling took a tour of Universal Technical Institute in Mooresville yesterday. A big race fan, Sonderling sat on the RCR pit box for the Cup race Sunday and also went to the INDYCAR race in Washington.

My office is full of @NASCAR memorabilia including Tim Richmond’s driving gloves, Jimmy Spencer’s goggles and our 89 Championship Pit Board. @Yates_Doug gave me a ratchet from his tool box. I put it between my championship belt buckle and a jar of Moonshine Jr Johnson gave me.🏁

This man right here is a racecar driver! Period!
During the drone show Roxzen said dad I want that trophy. I said I am going to get it for you buddy. I hope he remembers this night. It’s life changing for me. What a whirlwind week. Win the Baltes, announce the Spire deal, win the World 100. You could not script it any better.

It was an eventful day, lots of memories coming back. Tim Richmond was an amazing guy and I miss him. He learned a big lesson that day and he was better for it. @TheSceneVault

We lost an amazing racecar driver and human being on this day in 1989. Im wearing shades in the background with Booby Harrington (white shirt) Slick Poston, Barry Dodson and Pete Peterson. Tim remains cool as ever. This was Pocono, I think we won that weekend.

My brother Barry was one of the last working Crew Chiefs. We won races without engineers, no pun intended. In my opinion it was the greatest years of NASCAR racing. Barry worked on the car everyday. He had me do phone interviews for him because people couldn’t tell us apart. True

John was a very kind and agreeable person and an amazing engine specialist. He was actually in the engine shop with Harold Elliott at Blue Max Racing when we won the 1989 @NASCAR Winston Cup Championship with @RustyWallace. He’s right in the middle here on that special day. RIP
John was one of the most talented guys that I’ve ever worked alongside. He drove @NASCAR and then built engines. His cylinder heads helped us Win a lot of races at RYR from 1995 until he decided to slow down in the mid 2010’s. He will be remembered @roushyates

Groovy day to have a @NASCARHall driver stop by the @UTITweet Mooresville @NASCAR campus. So great to see @markmartin and his son @6matthewmartin today. Mark was one of the hardest working drivers I ever saw, total commitment to making his cars fast. Special Guys! @TheSceneVault

In 87 we had a day off prior to the Firecracker 400 at Daytona. We hired a guide to fish the St John’s River. We wore shorts & tennis shoes and waded through grass cause the boat couldn’t get in where the fish was. Gators often got between us and the boat. Im holding the catch!

On my way to @NWBSpeedway today, I made a stop by The Last American Hero’s boyhood home in Ingle Hollow. He lived here the night the Revenuer’s caught him close by at the family liquor still and sent him to Prison. Jr Johnson would eventually be inducted into the @NASCARHall
