Over the last few years, India has launched several national missions, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme and transformative initiatives such as the Anusandhan National Research Foundation @ANRFIndia and the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) initiative to strengthen its technology and innovation ecosystem.
In an article in @EconomicTimes, co-authored with Aditya Sinha @adityasinha004 , we argue that, like other major economies, India needs an evidence based list of technologies critical to its national interests.
These technologies should be assessed on three key parameters: sovereignty risk, economic potential and private capital availability. Each should then be evaluated to identify gaps in research expertise, technology development, product scaling, market creation or demand aggregation.
Government missions and programmes can then be aligned to address these specific gaps, bringing greater coherence to our efforts and transforming individual initiatives into a unified national strategy for technological self-reliance.

I spent the day with some of India’s finest intellectual minds at the PAN IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit. It was one of the most stimulating and enriching engagements I have had recently.
Today, we released the PAN IIT Amaravati Declaration, laying out a roadmap to harness the IIT ecosystem’s knowledge, technology and global network for Andhra Pradesh.
We are establishing the PAN IIT Amaravati Council as a permanent nodal platform, along with a ₹500 crore Venture Fund to back DeepTech innovation and incubate 50 startups by 2030 across Quantum-AI, Semiconductors, Space & Defence, HealthTech, AgriTech and the Blue Economy.
Our vision is clear: to make Amaravati a global hub for ideas, research, innovation and future technologies.
I thank PAN IIT Alumni India and the entire IIT community for joining Andhra Pradesh’s growth story. When the intellectual strength of our IITs meets the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Swarna Andhra 2047, the possibilities are limitless.

This is a game changing initiative by Capacity Building Commission launched by Hon’ble Minister Dr Jitendra Singh ji.
Its' objective is to strengthen administrative and leadership capacity among scientists.
@CBC_MK @DrJitendraSingh
My keynote address at the "SADHANA Saptah" organised by "Capacity Building Commission" #CBC:
Takeaways:
"The absence of structured administrative training for academicians and scientists had long been a gap, particularly as many suddenly transitioned from academia into leadership roles. Often, the professionals from scientific and academic backgrounds are required to take on institutional administrative responsibilities without prior exposure to administrative processes.
Therefore, I am glad to launch the first-ever dedicated programme on “Administrative Capacity Building for Scientists and Academicians”, marking a step towards equipping academia leaders with governance skills and decision-making capabilities under the "Mission Karmayogi" framework. I had proposed to the "Capacity Building Commission" to develop a model on these lines in collaboration with the "Indian National Science Academy" and I appreciate their positive response with a diligently worked out model. Such institutionalised learning would reduce the reliance of academia administrators on “self-learning” that can be time-consuming and uneven.
I am today suggesting creation of a focused course on answering Parliamentary Questions to strengthen procedural understanding among officials. And similarly also, short-format Orientation modules can be designed for each batch of Assistant Secretaries comprising the new IAS officers who are on a Central government stint before they join their respective State cadre".
