Chaired the monthly Joint Meeting of Govt of India's Science Ministries/Departments. Also reviewed the just concluded 'Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar' 5.0 and the scale of public participation generated by the campaign. Conducted from September 12 to 19, 2026, the coastal cleanup covered 231 locations across 13 States/UTs, with 15 lakh people taking the Ocean Conservation Pledge. Emphasised greater synergy and visibility, with setting up of city-based science clusters, bringing together all the different institutions and stakeholders working in related areas. Called for strengthening the communication ecosystem so that significant achievements in technology and innovation are communicated in a timely, accessible and engaging manner, through diverse mediums including the social media . The aim should be to go beyond institutional boundaries and create a stronger connect between the scientific world and the common citizens.
