I like! This is a really simple and inexpensive way to significantly reduce the quantum threat to Kaspa users. Traditional addresses expose the public key controlling the funds. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer could derive the private key from that public key and steal the funds. KIP-22 proposes a simple change: instead of exposing the public key, an address commits to a cryptographic hash (a fingerprint) of the spending conditions. The public key stays hidden, and unlike elliptic-curve cryptography, strong cryptographic hashes remain highly resistant to quantum attacks. Only when we spend the funds do we reveal the necessary information for the network to verify the transaction. There is still a theoretical attack vector where an attacker could intercept a spending transaction, derive the private key, and attempt to front-run the original transaction. But since PoW relies on hashing, which is far more resistant to quantum attacks, the network should remain operational and continue confirming transactions, leaving an attacker with only a very narrow window to act. Exploiting this would require not just a quantum computer capable of breaking public-key cryptography, but one powerful enough to do this faster than the network converges. On Kaspa, that means just a few seconds. That's a much stronger "theoretical adversary," and it's unclear whether such a machine will ever exist. Personally, I doubt quantum computers will ever be able to break public-key cryptography at realistic key sizes (I suspect that Hilbert space itself is discrete and has a much coarser resolution than commonly assumed, but that's a different topic). So TL;DR: KIP-22 isn't a "complete" post-quantum solution, but it's an elegant, relatively low-cost way to significantly reduce the attack surface for quantum adversaries.

🚨Korea INSIGHT: Kaspa privacy development has reached a new milestone, with developer Olaf Weller (@WellerOlaf) completing a proof of concept for shielded native $KAS payments on testnet TN10. The tests demonstrated transaction ordering, zero-knowledge proof execution and proof-based settlement directly on Kaspa Layer 1. The next phase will focus on designing private notes, commitments, nullifiers and the proof rules needed to support shielded transactions. However, the system has not undergone an independent audit and remains a work in progress, rather than a finished privacy protocol. @kaspaunchained

Kozmic Bridge Explained (rough edit). A bridge between Kaspa L1 and Ethereum with no signers and no admin keys. Each chain verifies the other with a ZK proof of its consensus. Covers how Ethereum checks Kaspa's proof of work (superblocks, attestation, inclusion), the four bridge types, and what you trust.

The Kaspa Privacy Initiative now has its own website! 👉 kpi.cash A place to discover what we're trying to build: optional financial privacy for native KAS, without introducing a new token or relying on custodians. You'll find the project's core ideas, principles and latest GitHub developments, automatically updated as the research progresses. And importantly, there's now a way to support the research with KAS. I've already invested many dozens of hours into KPI, and while AI makes it possible to move incredibly fast, the work also comes with real costs: a dedicated TN10 node, additional VPS infrastructure, AI development tools and hosting. I'm happy to invest my time and resources into something I believe in, but this is ultimately meant to become a community-driven, open-source effort. If you believe native KAS deserves optional privacy and would like to help move this research forward, any contribution is genuinely appreciated. You can support the project directly at kpi.cash And of course, ideas, technical feedback and contributions are just as welcome as donations. Let's see what we can build together!

0.2 KAS went from Kaspa to Ethereum with no signer in the middle. On mainnet. As a test. @KasperoLabs burned 0.2 KAS, proved it and the Kaspa PoW above it in RISC Zero; an Ethereum mainnet contract verified the proof and minted 0.2 wKAS. Test only, capped, unaudited. No minimum-work threshold yet; the next version adds about an hour of level-30 blocks. @michaelsuttonil flagged what's left: the proof must show the block was chain qualified (on Kaspa's selected chain, not just in the DAG). He sketched a possible route. Not solved yet. Also merged, unreleased: @IzioDev's #1074, covenant transactions from WASM. Words the intern may not use today: trustless, breakthrough, live bridge. They're on a sticky note on my monitor. Day 1 of the sticky note.

Had a really interesting conversation with Kaspa core developer @michaelsuttonil about the Kaspa Privacy Initiative today. We discussed our candidate architecture for a scalable shielded native KAS protocol, using covenants, ZK proofs, permissionless relayers and batchers. One of the biggest takeaways was how much of the infrastructure we're looking for may already be available through Kaspa's Based Apps and KIP-21. In our original design, one of the challenges was ensuring that batchers couldn't selectively omit user operations while claiming to have processed a complete batch. With Based Apps, user operations can be ordered directly on Kaspa L1 in an application-specific lane. KIP-21 provides cryptographic sequencing commitments, allowing a properly designed settlement proof to demonstrate that the relevant operations were processed correctly. That could remove a substantial amount of custom infrastructure we'd otherwise have to build ourselves. We also discussed canonical bridges, recursive proving and why sharding may introduce unnecessary complexity at this stage. Our next step is a small Based App feasibility PoC on TN10. We'll test lane ordering, execution, proof-based settlement, deliberate transaction omission and independent reconstruction before adding the actual shielded privacy logic. No architecture has been finalized. The goal remains to find the safest, most scalable and most decentralized solution, not to defend an earlier design. Really appreciate Michael taking the time to share his insights. Conversations like these are incredibly valuable. Technical feedback, criticism and contributions are very welcome! github.com/olafweller/kaspa-…

$KAS community is still alive 🐂 Very rare honestly to have people stick around even through a bear market and still be just as bullish on the asset. Love to see it. In the age of agents, $KAS is still interesting for the cypherpunk crowd wielding agents and creating software of the decentralized ethos and who will need a decentralized, secure, and scalable cryptocurrency for agents to use to transact. The world’s focus is very much on AI and less so on forms of money, but understanding how the two relate may be useful as a value gauge and investment thesis on cryptocurrencies over the next ten years.
Should I make a video like this for $KAS? It’s a fair launched, proof of work cryptocurrency, like $BTC, but scales on the base layer. No VCs.

This episode is done on hard mode. No show notes, high speed traffic and on the fly repairs to the equipment. Yonatan Sompolinsky/ @hashdag visited Romania for a short vacation and @Vladcostea did a road trip style interview with him whiledriving him to catch his flight. He caught us up with everything he's been doing for the past year, from his philosophical obsession with stag hunts, to covenants on Kaspa kaspa:native and his admiration for Zcash. So a random stranger creates a Wikipedia article, and somehow Kaspa looks bad? And since when do marketing failures or slow adoption invalidate peer-reviewed research? Since when did popularity determine scientific merit? What an absurd level of reasoning.

Why did one of the biggest energy groups on the planet pick kaspa:native? A recent report from @DiiDesertEnergy, a think tank spanning 120+ companies across 36 countries, lays out why. From February 2027, every industrial battery sold into Europe needs a tamper-proof digital record. No fake, no single owner, always on. The pilot building that registry is already testing kaspa:native thanks to @KaspaKii. A $1B chain being trialled for a market heading toward $20B. I broke down the whole report in the video. Currently every default Kaspa address (kaspa:q) is a Schnorr public key, in plain sight. Without changes to concensus; exists P2SH script addresses (kaspa:p) where exposing public keys could be defered until spent. This would require a 'wallet standard': One redeem script, one derivation path, so a seed restored in any wallet finds the coins. Along with rules: A fresh address for every receive, never reuse an address after spending from it, and don't hand your xpub to watch-only services, since it reveals every key it derives. This was suggested over a year ago by @BitcoinsSG and I think it's time to begin to consider this move sooner than later. I'm not sure if this would qualify for a 'KCC' but should be discussed in the same way KCC-20 covenant standards are being shaped. github.com/bitcoinsSG/Kaspa-…

At @token2049 SG, I presented what @DataDanceChain is building. Instead of pretending to bring breakthrough, disruptive tech, DDC is a pragmatist: it is among the first to mine the value sitting in existing data. After years of seeing and speaking about all kinds of projects, I've become numb to taking the stage (though @token2049 has one of the best stages in the world!). Most of the time, a conference is too crowded and noisy for deep talks. To be blunt, it is just so delusional that more are interested in the yacht party than the tech or PMF; many speakers know nothing about their own panel topic but just want to shill. What still drives me to show up is people's intent to coordinate. Attending in-person has a cost (just like mining): time, energy, and of course the insanely high hotel and flight prices. Sure, everyone is there for Alpha, but at least for this one trip, people think more about how to work together than how to pillage. Also, we get to see things in person, not yet proxied by AI. Everyone sees the same thing. Our attention, attachment, and focality are still gathered the traditional way. While nobody knows yet how to achieve that in the AI era, this matters a lot. By the way, I know most followers of this account come from the #Kaspa community. This presentation had no direct connection to @kaspaunchained, but my alignment with #Kaspa's values is always there. Under @michaelsutton's leadership, #Kaspa already has top-tier tech (and extremely elegant code). But what economic value and social problem does it solve? I don't know the answer, so I would listen to @hashdag about how to build consensus across silicon proxies.

1/10 Kaspa is joining the global payment standard for the internet. x402 founded by Coinbase and Cloudflare, now a Linux Foundation project is becoming the default way AI agents pay for APIs and data. This week, a kaspa:native binding is ready for upstream submission. Here's why it matters. 🧵

You know the value of $KAS is not dependent on the dollar existing ? If the dollar was to go away the $KAS network will still keep producing blocks. The value of $KAS is dependant on what it gives people and whether or not what it gives is something someone would never want to give up. Study and Build on $KAS!

I rebuilt the Kaspa orderbook DEX as Argent app! The covenants are now written in SilverScript instead of raw opcodes, and it supports KCC20 and KRON tokens. It's open source, anyone can run an Executor. Testing it for a while 🙏

The key point is that a DEX without a permissionless executor transfers trading profits to a centralized organization. Covenant, featuring Argent and Silverscript, unlocks infinite possibilities for PoW.
