"Remember that thing LucasArts was doing 20 years ago to great effect? Yeah, I guess they were right to do that instead of giving exclusive rights to a inept publisher everyone hates."
Lucasfilm Games is becoming more flexible about who gets to make Star Wars games.
After Star Wars: Zero Company and Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Lucasfilm Games executive Douglas Reilly says the company is now more open to pitches from different developers and publishers.
“We’re more flexible about, like, who we’re willing to take pitches from and good ideas can come from a lot of different places.”
The change comes after EA’s 10-year exclusivity deal ended in 2023, opening the door for more studios to work on Star Wars.
“You don’t have to necessarily be a top five publisher to make a great Star Wars game.”
But the company is clearly willing to look beyond the biggest names in the industry. Reilly says Lucasfilm is exploring projects with “large and small partners” that could “continue to surprise folks.”
Finally! The Golden Age of Star Wars games (approx 2002 - 2006) was when they lent talented publishers the IP.
Lucasfilm Games will be flexible with both having larger and smaller Star Wars Games moving forward, says VP Douglas Reilly!
"I think we've tried to be more flexible about like who we're willing to take pitches from and good ideas can come from a lot of different places. You don't have to necessarily be a top five publisher to make a great Star Wars game. We have a high quality bar and we want to make sure there excellent experiences and that means typically you work with more experienced teams than, you know, new teams who have no track record of of making great things. We're exploring all kinds of things that large and small with partners that I think are going to continue to surprise folks who are like, 'Oh, they're doing a thing with them. That might be interesting to see how that turns out.'"

'Star Wars Galactic Racer' developers confirm plans for more content 🎮
They're listening to player feedback to decide what's next
"We need to see, we need to reflect ... we need to listen, we need to participate together with players ... [that] will help determine where we go next and when"

So happy to be a part of the amazing cast of STAR WARS GALACTIC RACER, returning as a young Griff Halloran from Star Wars Resistance! ☠️
When the G.O.A.T @Stephen_Stanton as Griff shows up in @SWGalacticRacer but you missed Resistance😅

I just....don't understand why she shot him. It's just so unreasonable.
If he was talking crazy and threatening to kill Noah, I'd understand. He was just asking them to leave town for a bit with him and to keep them safe.
This whole thing is so dumb.

Hal Jordan Deserved So Much Better.
- 30 years as a Green Lantern
- Spent 10 years in pr!son for doing his job
- Lost decades of his life behind bars
- Was constantly betrayed by John, who eventually took his ring
- Gave everything to the Corps, only to be treated like a cr!minal
- K!lled for no good reason by someone he loved
- Had only 3 people attend his funeral
- One of them wished he had k!lled him
- One of them actually did
- After 30 years of service, this is how Hal Jordan’s story ends
30 years. 10 years in prison. Betrayed. K!lled. Forgotten.
What a way to treat one of DC’s greatest Green Lanterns.
She murdered him & walked free cus she couldn't control her impulses but Hal did 10 years botching an alien takedown (after being rinsed by the Guardians) such a let down by the writers in a few key areas in an otherwise good show.
Lanterns writer Tom King talks about the decision to allow Kerry Kane to get away with killing Hal Jordan scott free:
"We had a big debate. It was like, 'Does Kerry Kane get punished?' Nothing could punish her more than the fact that she did that thing and she has to live with it. There's no, like, jail isn't worse than that."
Is this the dumbest ending in the history of television?
