Forgiving infrastructure assumes people make mistakes. A person on a bike who loses their balance and falls shouldn't pay for it with their life just because there was no buffer between them and a vehicle 100 times their weight.
Rain has a wonderful way of revealing just how uneven hand-laid paths are compared with machine-laid roads.

The short-sightedness of @haringeycouncil is unbelievable. Level cycle access to Down Lane Park at the Holcombe Rd gate removed last year (without public consultation). Major surface works taking place on Park View Rd without addressing this. Why make it harder to cycle?

I seem to have missed the culture war over poorly parked dockless cars and vans, a blight that's been going on for the last 50 years, blocking pavements and reducing accessibility.

Queen Street, N17. Part of the @TfL funded Cycleway 1 route, backed by @MayorofLondon @willnorman. Looks perfectly safe and not all intimidating(!). Anyone fancy cycling down here at night on their own?
Highlights from Cycleway 1 this week include: the usual really. It's always the usual nonsense. Every single day. Most of C1 is pile of horse poo. @TfL @willnorman @MayorofLondon ought to be ashamed to have anything to do with it.
Every minute of every day, scores of drivers are both laughing and thankful for @haringeycouncil's incompetence at sorting out this ANPR camera.
I first reported the ANPR camera tampering on Hillside Rd in May 2022. More than 4 years later, the issue is still ongoing and I haven't seen the camera pointing the right way for well over a year! The drivers are laughing! Both @HaringeyLabour and @HaringeyGreens are failing.
This is why you're not supposed to park on the corner at junctions. Especially if you have a big, ugly SUV. No chance of seeing anyone coming until it's too late. Thank goodness for those bicycle painted on the road though! Thanks @haringeycouncil!
The @TfL "funded" Cycleway 13 route on Tabernacle St is bad enough in the daytime, but at least you can see the bits to cycle around. But at night time, there's no chance! Sort it out please @hackneycouncil @IslingtonBC. We've been asking for years! @willnorman
