By cultivating wisdom, compassion, and the practice of meditation, individuals can gain insight into the true nature of reality, overcome these defilements, and attain liberation from samsara. By following the path outlined by the Buddha, individuals can break free from the cycle of samsara and reach a state of liberation and ultimate peace known as Nirvana. So, let's explore the similarities between the 'Aztec Stone' and the representation of Samsara. They are both depicted in a circular pattern, and they both feature animals, particularly the three main animals: the serpent, the pig, and the bird. In the Aztec stone, the divine being is portrayed in the center, showing his teeth, while in Samsara, the divine being is positioned above the wheel, also showing his teeth. The similarities between them are remarkable. The central image of the ‘Aztec Stone’ is the face of the sun god Tonatiuh, who was associated with the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The face of Tonatiuh is surrounded by multiple concentric circles and other intricate symbols, representing different aspects of the Aztec cosmological and calendrical systems.
