The composer George Fenton has died at the age of 76.
His music included Blue Planet, Planet Earth and multiple movies - Baftas + Emmys and received five Oscar nominations.
He composed BBC TV news theme tunes including the memorable Newsnight music.

John was a local legend- I Worked at Swansea Sound from 1984-6. Sometimes after a breakfast shift I’d lounge away the afternoon on a sun drenched Gower beach then pop to John’d and bother him for a cup of tea.

I was made redundant by Reach because (and I quote) I was resistant to change because I argued for reporting of local news and against clickbait. EVERY ONE of my fellow journos no longer works for Reach. I’m one of very few still in the industry. Reach caused immense damage.
