I don't enjoy "making an app" anymore, AI made it disconnected. But building a medallion architecture with a semantic layer (w/ drizzle-cube.dev/) to make a slack agent actually query complex data within a great price/accuracy/latency has been fun again even with AI support
It bugs me how many sites only show a sign up button and no actual link to their app to login.
I'm forever hitting sign up to then find the micro sized low contrast "Already have an account?" to get a redirect to the same buttoned form minus a "Whats should we call you"
Whilst I write less code with AI, the biggest game change for me has been able to automate layers of testing I had to manually execute before.
Recently automating telegram bot testing with a user bot connected to MCP is the feedback loop I didn't need to be
Struggling with 5.6 Sol these last few days.. it seems to want to solve world peace before getting on with the job I asked it to do.
Out of all the window managers I've been trying.. Niri really just clicks with my brain so well.
A little bit if messing with custom rules for certain windows but that's all.
Alt + tab and allowing to change scope from all to workspace and output is 😍
CachOS + Niri seems to be where I've landed after decades on Ubuntu. Tried cosmic on popOS but alt+tab and workspace scoped apps didn't behave as expected. Will be watching closely what comes in epoch 2
For years businesses wanted workflow automation. For years non-devs wanted to build apps.
We are now seeing a convergence between the two. Devs building workflows sprinkling in AI.
Non-devs building apps to solve the gaps of their workflows and integrations
Using Gemini to search the YouTube transcript for key words is super effective to cut past the click bait.

Today I learned about waydroid.. MITM proxy.. f-droid, aurora and cert signing to get my data out of a fitness app I've used for a decade that had no public API. Now I've got my clanker banging out an MCP to add to my coach agent.
Aside from coding agents opencode serves as a nice terminal app for installing MCPs and controlling chrome. I've just been pulling data and creating new workouts in Hevy whilst chrome dev Mcp has been pulling data out of NutraCheck
I've been very cynical of Claw and Hermes but I found a use case I can get behind. Turning ideas into structure within obsidian works though.

Released a couple of cloudflare deployable MCPs for Xero and Freeagent. Massively expanded to cover as many of the APIs these accounting packages have but pinned to read only so you can't fat finger on mobile.
