@WarcraftDevs In the shaman update the word "temporary tank" was used several times. Why allow a half measure? the game needs more tanks, allowing for multiple tank play styles will fill a need, while still allowing them to fully tank dungeons and raids alike @wowclassicdevs 1/2

Warrior, Druid, Paladin, Shaman used in unique ways in encounters for raid. utilize the raid encounter design to account for the need for multiple tanks with different abilities. It will not diminish Warrior tanking or other tanks to remove temporary from Shaman tank. 2/2

@AggrendWoW These are much more suitable to the classic feel of the game. several mentions of "this is our classic+" means you need to carry through SD models for all and stay true to faction identity and not do same races on both sides. #wowforever #warcraft 1/2

2/2 This also balances out the class offerings on each side. Alliance have more Paladin Options, Horde have more shaman options, but the important thing is there are at least 2 races on each side to give players a decent choice. Dwarf Mages and Troll Druids fill the gap.

(asia is happy) * unironically remove sky elves (you cant keep evergreen going without admitting and undoing mistakes) cute blue elves look totally out of place in horde, even more than blood elves ever did. Forsaken elves would look 100 times better with the same reason for being.

I feel like I'm losing my marbles here Holly called it Classic + on stage. They called SoD a test run for it. They teased it by putting plusses on that pdf thing, then later Holly teased it by saying "All classic players have a lot to look forward to- I'll save that for later". They referenced the Classic+ community survey in the reveal. They invited exclusively classic streamers to come test it. They called it a forever home for classic players. (Where do you think the Forever comes from) They said they would develop the game in a way that honors classic. They showed a clip on stage of Xaryu saying nobody can agree on what classic + should be. A wow 2 even just being built on the 2004 version of the game rather than just doing it with a world revamp on retail would be odd on its own. Guys how are some of you still coping your way into arguing this is not classic +. I have no idea what possibly could convince you at that point.

There seems to be a lot of people who in good faith think wow forever is a random new version of wow and classic + is just one thing one group of people want it to be. I'm just kind of confused how that happened. Holly literally called it classic + in the reveal.

What if we added 'Classic' and 'Modern' rulesets? Classic being closer to the traditional Classic+ experience (Not even toggles being an option etc) Modern being closer to retail, having stuff like Shared tagging, better group exp, shared quest drops etc

Yep, this. This is one of those things that we simply must hold the line on. I think there are other things we can do to help alleviate some frustration here but shared tagging is not it. It’s hard to see the value in something like this when you are frustrated in the moment but it is extremely important to our social pillar to maintain some of this friction.

@TheWindstalker Please Pivot from the Skyborne race. Please give the two elven races WoW deserves, WC3 driven plot points; High Elf Refugees for the Alliance. Dark Elf Undead for the Horde, who join the forsaken with their Leader Sylvanas. later is ok to add them.

I have fully fleshed out documentation and some story beats for quests for this exact scenario. Its ok to pivot from these and add the correct ones in a later patch. Forever is so promising, please do deflate the classic feel with these out of place random blue elves

@MarathonTheGame Wipes need to have through-line rewards & reason for all of this grind. Cosmetics, achievements, titles, & Codex are baseline. Please add something like +2 rows for each expansion rank for hitting level 100 AND +100 LUX per faction that was maxed (600 possible)

The Expansion +2 rows still locks bigger inventories behind progression and doesnt give anyone a huge head start, you could even just do the final two ranks as the +2 if you do it every season.

or you could rotate the perk selection and do something like informate.exe increase or other non-combat perks. something that truly rewards people but doesnt take away from each reset.
