When Jews were ethnically cleansed from Arab countries, vast amounts of land and property were taken from them.
Land stolen is estimated at 100,000 km²..... 4.5 times the size of Israel. $263 billion in assets taken.
250k lived for years in tents and poverty, until they built.
If a person promoted a specific memorial to all the German kids who died in 1944-45 (as a result of Nazi aggression and the Allies’ response to it), I’d hope it was because they think *all* child deaths in war are tragic… but it would probably be because they support Nazis.
Every child matters.
“A vast public artwork naming 18,457 children killed in Gaza has arrived in Sydney, confronting viewers with individual lives too easily reduced to statistics.”

For the 5.8 million people living in Gaza and the Palestinian controlled areas of Judea and Samaria, the vote you were supposed to have in 2009 that wasn’t even scheduled until 2026 has now been postponed.
For the 2 million Arabs living in Israel, you will still get to vote as scheduled in 2 weeks, which will be the 10th election in Israel since the last one in Palestine.

I’ll never understand people who think you can start an unprovoked war by committing a massive atrocity, then hide under your own people retaining hostages from that atrocity, and then blame others when your own people are hurt. But sure, make a caricature of other arguments that you can actually think you defeat.
I've never fully understood people whose response to the killing of civilians in Gaza is basically a shrug of the shoulders and saying "life's hard" and "war's bad." A total unwillingness to acknowledge that Israelis have agency and that they could have chosen to prosecute the war differently. They chose not to.

My own family were tossed out of homes and stripped of nationalities and if anyone suggested I parachute into Alexandria and go on a shooting and kidnapping spree to right the injustice, I would think they were totally fucking mad. The behaviour isnt normal.

Reminder.
The difference between Zionism and Islamism.
Zionism: One tiny piece of land should belong to the Jews and anyone else that’s okay with that is welcome
Islamism: EVERY land should belong to Muslims and if you’re not okay with that, you either convert or die

Imagine being a misogynistic, Islamic supremacist prick like this, thinking you're going to be in paradise with 72 virgins only to get foiled by a middle aged Hindu and an unarmed Jewish plumber looking at life in an Emirati pit, laughing stock of the world.

If you destroy or damage most of the buildings while fighting the terror state housed in tunnels underneath them, but 98% of the civilians are still alive, despite being barred by Egypt from fleeing the war zone, and sometimes being prevented by the terror state from fleeing even direct warnings of impending strikes, it's very strong evidence of "not genocide."
Hey @ycombinator, this antisemite needs to be out the door today.

A few key revelations related to Gaza coverage in last few days:
- Almost all of the media in Gaza were in a Hamas-run WhatsApp group that dictated and coordinated coverage. Including contributors to major western news organizations.
- Al Jazeera fired 24 of their media members from Gaza for direct ties to terror groups
- Admission that anyone in Gaza who reported anything contrary to Hamas claims was likely to be killed by Hamas.
Almost all of the information that came out of Gaza was part of a coordinated disinformation campaign by the very people who started the war.

Germans: We want less immigration.
AfD: We are against immigration.
Liberals:
Here’s my attenpt to explain what’s going on in Germany:
- Competition from Eastern Europe severely weakened collective bargaining in the 1990s. The result was wage stagnation and higher inequality. (This gave rise to a temporary export boom, but it didn’t last).
- Gerhard Schroeder’s Hartz IV reforms undermined the German welfare state and created a new category of precarious low paying jobs.
- Angela Merkel’s debt brake led to massive austerity right after the global financial crisis. This was removed only for military spending.
- Germany’s leading industry was always cars. But the industry made a bad bet on ICE cars instead of EVs, and is now getting killed by China.
- German industry relied on cheap fossil fuel energy from Russia. We know how that worked out.
And now the AfD is riding high and the SPD (which used to be the world’s most prominent left-wing party) is dead. And Merz is weak feckless.
Do you disagree with any of this, @edenhofer_jacob?

When explaining consent and not being allowed to have sex with a child is one of the first things you have to tell someone upon arriving here, it’s a very good sign they shouldn’t be here.
Problem is, “inclusive pedagogy and decolonising the curriculum within the academy,” and totally made up nonsense, are the same thing.
