So happy for David and Minda Garner. So pleased for WTS Board members; my pastor Dr Richard D. Phillips & old friend Gabriel Fluhrer. I think Harry Reeder would have been happy tonight. These are great days for our friends at Westminster Theological Seminary.

This Week on Wisdom Wednesday Dr. Blair Smith, President of RTS Charlotte and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology, answers the question “Is Reformed Theological Seminary for a specific denomination?”
RTS is not a denominational seminary, but it is confessional. Rooted in the authority of Scripture and the Westminster Confession of Faith, its teaching is shaped by the Reformed tradition while serving students from a variety of denominational backgrounds.

After speaking 7x on Sunday and Monday in Wheaton, Illinois for College Church, the Word Conference, and Crossway, we got up at 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning to take a direct flight from Chicago to Los Angeles in order to arrive in time to start speaking for various ministries connected to a long life of ministry by Dr. John MacArthur. The last two days included: (1) a treasured serendipitous evening with Sinclair Ferguson, my mentor and close friend for 44 years (photo 1), (2) delivering a chapel message on “Cultivating Prayer in the Ministry” for the theological students and faculty members of The Master’s Seminary (photo 2), (3) delivering a chapel message for 1,100 students from The Masters University on “Trusting God in Babylon” (photo 3), (4) spending time studying for my addresses in the study of John MacArthur, which was rather sobering and surreal as it is so hard to realize that he is longer in this study where we have met together many times in the past but is now with the Lord whom He served with remarkable dedication and perseverance for so many years (photo 4), (5) having great fellowship with Joey Meija, who served as one of John MacArthur’s senior assistants and whose role in Grace Community Church’s ministries can scarcely be overestimated, (6) enjoying fellowship with Biblical Counseling professors at the seminary (Dr. Ernie Baker) and college (Dr. Shelbi Cullen), and several students, and (7) time spent in the college bookstore together with student leaders and students (photo 5).
Please join us at Grace Community Church on Friday and Saturday for The Puritan Conference either in person or on line: puritanconference.org. Plenary speakers include Sinclair Ferguson, Michael Reeves, Derek Thomas, Chad VanDixhoorn, Stephen Yuille, and me. Pray for God’s rich blessing on this conference.
