As a care experienced adult I felt reassurance that my experience would not be so easily repeated in today's system because there are social workers like you to ensure the children receive CARE, I am sure that because of you and your work many do so, thank you for being that hope

I’m sorry to read this Ian. I have followed you since I first worked with a charity that supports and guides care leavers and learned a lot from your tweets. I hope your onward journey is as comfortable as it can be 🧡

Ian you have been a force for love and kindness in an often soulless system. I know you are surrounded by love now. You will leave an amazing legacy in your work but most of all in your wonderful family and those special grandchildren. I have learnt so much from you. Thank you.

I hope the door closes as gently as it possibly can Ian, surrounded by ur gorgeous family. What you leave in the room that is this earth is a legacy of love, care & a body of work to improve the life’s of those that walk the same road you have walked along. All my love Ian. Xxx

People may forget what you said, Ian.
They may forget what you did.
But they will never forget how you made them feel.

Agreed, very sad that those at the table are not prepared to listen.

Some interesting findings about fast-tracks in this latest longitudinal study that show many (all??) of the concerns expressed about the social work qualifying programme Frontline when it was proposed have been borne out. A longish 🧵 1/15

This is such an important story and needs sharing; the messages from both Ian’s experiences and also the Care Experienced Conference mustn’t be lost. Having worked in Children’s Rights for many years I despair that so little has changed. Thank you @IDickson258 & @article_39
