ALT Countless civilians in both Israel and Lebanon are now living in fear due to escalating hostilities. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reminds the parties to this armed conflict that they have a responsibility to spare and protect civilians at all times. This is the first rule of war and must be applied.

ALT Humanitarian work is not just about delivering boxes: it is to offer a lifeline in the middle of humanity's darkest moments. We call on States, non-state armed groups, and communities to ensure that humanitarian workers and volunteers are protected, respected, and granted safe access to reach those in need.

ALT As a result of hostilities in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, several health structures received an influx of patients, including the Red Cross field hospital, where we received 13 casualties, including 6 dead – 2 of them children. Six casualties received urgent medical treatment. Tragically, one patient succumbed to injuries. For more than 11 months civilians in Gaza have been trapped by unrelenting hostilities and displacement. People go to sleep not knowing if they will live to see the next morning. Nowhere in Gaza is safe. We urgently call for all parties to the conflict to respect their obligations under IHL and do everything they can to protect civilians from the effects of hostilities.
