The Government has confirmed it's not considering Graduated Driving Licensing.
CEO of RoadPeace Howard Jones said: “We're deeply disappointed by the refusal to consider GDL. The evidence is clear: GDL has saved lives in other countries and it will do the same here."

Young driver debate in Parliament.
It was great to be able to listen, whilst in the room, to the recent debate on young driver risk. It was also positive so many MPs were in attendance and spoke. I am told there were also MPs who wanted to speak but were unable to due to running out of time. There was so much support for #GDL except from @LilianGreenwood and @gregsmith_uk - surprisingly in agreement! As some other MPs were a bit too vague it was tricky to know!
I have since learned that the room layout mirrors the House of Commons chamber seating, in that MPs sit in their tribe. At the back of the room were members of #ForgetMeNotFamiliesUniting and because we filled all the seats others were in a second room next door! The left hand side of the picture was space for @Conservatives MPs - with one seat occupied …

Changed our profile pic because we fancied a change of scenery ... Windsor is probably the most famous place in the Thames Valley. We aren't claiming any royal connection ... but if the Palace calls for an Advanced Driving Course, well ... 😀 @RoyalFamily

When did you last have your eyesight checked? You may not have noticed a gradual change in your vision.
Ideally you should have an eye test every two years, or more often if your optician suggests it.

Good to see this from @racfoundation as rural roads, with the clear but wide ranging definition, get neglected in the discourse on how to #StopRoadDeath.
Remember each year around 60% of people killed or seriously injured on Britain’s road happen on rural roads - especially single carriageways.
Here’s a rural road near me with the speed limit at 60 and 30 - either side of the (blurry) sign! It is blurry because of the photo quality and because the sign itself has not been maintained and so difficult to read.
#StopRoadDeath #VisionZero
We often think of a rural road as a winding lane but it is essentially any road outside an urban area and that can include dual carriageways and motorways. We have tried to identify the different types of 'rural road' in this work:

Whilst 1.6mm tread is the legal minimum, the recommendation is to change at 3mm to ensure superior water dissipation ... and there's plenty of water around at the moment ☔️☔️☔️
Don’t let poorly maintained tyres lead to you breaking down on the side of the road. 1 in 5 vehicle breakdowns result from tyre defects. So stay ahead of the game and avoid unnecessary disruptions, by checking your tyres regularly. #CheckTyres #TyreSafety
