We don’t invest in “Africa” as a category.
We invest in how Africa trades, works, and pays.
How goods move.
How people access productive work.
How businesses transact.
How money moves.
The question is always: where is the friction large enough to build a venture-scale company?

A single talk can pay more than a lot of people earn in six or twelve months.
What separates the speakers who command those fees isn't how good they are on stage - it's how well known they are for their topic.
Simon Sinek has the big fees because everyone knows his signature content. If you're the number one expert on a topic, event organisers end up fighting for your time, and that takes a signature topic, a book, and an online presence big enough to show you're one of the top people on it, usually something like 50,000 followers across your platforms.
Once you're there, every big talk leads to the next one, along with board seats, advisory roles, podcast invitations and book deals.
Join my free live workshop on Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st October, with four sessions to choose from. I’ll show you how to become the obvious choice in your industry and build a business that doesn’t run through you: bit.ly/4yIbbkX

The IEA expects global #oil demand to fall by 2.6m b/d in 2026, with diesel accounting for 25% of the decline, as the Iran war drives supply constraints, higher fuel prices and weaker #economic activity. Demand is expected to recover by 2m b/d in 2027, but remain below 2025 levels. Meanwhile, September oil supply rose to 102.3m b/d, up 2.5m b/d m/m, led by Gulf producers. However, renewed attacks leave the projected supply recovery fragile.

Dangote is preparing to extend its refinery share offering by ten days, Reuters reports.
📰 Reuters cites a company executive and an adviser involved in the deal. An official announcement is still expected.
📅 The offering opened on September 14 and was due to close on Tuesday, October 13.
💰 It covers 4.1 billion shares at ₦525 each, with the original offer valued at about ₦2.15 trillion.
🎯 The aim of the extension is to let more investors across Africa take part.
🌍 Differing national rules and limited cross-border channels have complicated participation. Kenya and Uganda have approved arrangements for eligible investors.
🏗️ The money supports plans to double processing capacity to 1.4 million barrels a day.
For Dangote, the priority is wider participation. For Africa, the test is whether its capital markets can work together to fund projects this size.

Standard Bank is investing up to $200 million in Nigeria's OPay as the fintech prepares to list in New York.
🏦 The stake is capped at 4.99% and depends on the offering going ahead and receiving approvals. Standard Bank is Africa's largest bank by assets.
📄 OPay filed registration documents with US regulators on Friday, October 9, seeking a New York Stock Exchange listing.
👥 OPay had 50.1 million monthly active users at the end of July 2026.
📈 First-half revenue more than doubled to $467.1 million, according to its filing.
💰 Net income for the same period reached $90.9 million.
🌍 Standard Bank operates in 21 African markets, and the two companies plan to explore digital banking, payments and financial services across them.
Few African fintechs have reached international public markets. OPay's listing will test investor appetite for African digital finance.
