From today, the term ‘junior doctor’ is being replaced by the more appropriate ‘resident doctor’.
This follows work done by your reps at a national level, and has been picked up by the mainstream media.
Congratulations on the start of a new era to your profession.
🚨We have a new title: BMA Residents 🚨
A long time coming, and after much hard work, junior doctors will now be called Resident Doctors.
This new title better reflects their huge range of skills and responsibilities.

Good mentors see you as a younger version of themselves. They help you follow in their footsteps.
Great mentors see your potential to be a better version of yourself. They help you find your path.

You will ALL be each other at some time
We are just in different dimensions—
This isn’t a competition of status.
This is a collaboration of time
respect where others are now
you were, are, or will be them.
