Our @Pathoutlines topic on DPN-like melanoma (melanoma arising in a Wnt-activated melanocytoma/nevus) is now available online! Our future #dermpath fellow, @ThePath_Mo, did a great job as always. Check it out! 😆🔬🧬 #MDACCPath #pathology pathologyoutlines.com/topic/…

This is a subcutaneous pleomorphic liposarcoma. It looks like a "generic" high-grade pleomorphic sarcoma until the pleomorphic lipoblasts are spotted. They may be in a spectrum with the more recently described myxoid pleomorphic liposarcoma. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3416…

Friday signout so know I'm supposed to focus....but these were just too cool so I had to stop and send. (Seems like we should know better how/why a tumor does this.....perhaps the patient had too much dairy?)

Big news for #DigitalPathology: CMS has proposed making the current CLIA enforcement discretion for virtual access permanent. Cytology remains excluded, but this is a major step forward for #Telepathology and #PathologyInformatics.

Expanding the genetic spectrum of PKC-fused blue nevi. They are however recognizable by morphology and IHC alone. If you practice dermpath you will encounter these frequent benign tumours. Follow the link for temporary free access to our most recent paper authors.elsevier.com/a/1ntUQ…

A 35-year-old woman presented with a 20-day history of a painless nipple ulcer without other associated symptoms or skin findings. Histopathologic analysis of a nipple-biopsy specimen showed epidermal necrosis with inflammatory exudate, dermal capillary proliferation, and dense perivascular lymphoplasmacytic infiltrates. Immunohistochemical analysis of the biopsy is shown. What is the most likely diagnosis? Submit your answer and see how others responded: nej.md/IC10012026
