Right on track with what Georgist economists have been expecting all along. Land prices are at all time highs in valuable downtown city locations driving rents and prices up. Sound the alarm for another crash in 2026. And remember folks: land value tax would solve this.

Both are bad. Next!
Why don’t any “End the Occupation” anti-Israel lunatics ever speak about Turkey’s occupation of Cyprus?

THIS. A nation is a land trust and Georgists ask you to become trustees instead of permanent rentoids
Yes, "society" is the landlord, but here's the good news: everyone is part of society, so that makes everyone their own lords of land. "Society" isn't "your" landlord, YOU are your landlord!

What a joke! AIPAC has been funneling money through “democracy engine” instead of doing direct donations and bundling. I introduced a bill that would require AIPAC to disclose their influence campaigns just as others do under FARA.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), one of the most influential forces in U.S. politics, will no longer directly endorse candidates or donate to them from its federal political action committee, the group said. wapo.st/4yG3tqX

I love how the libertarian worldview is simultaneously "there's plenty of land" and also "don't touch our unused vast tracts of land commie" They argue there's a public domain/commons for us all and then argue against land being a public domain/commons
"There's enough land in Texas to fit everyone without touching each other, thus land is not an issue" retort is the libertarian version of the "there are more homes than people" non sequitur that NIMBYs deploy to downplay housing issues.

A lot of people want to pretend that "location" does not matter

C'mon man we just fund genocidal political campaigns please pweeze go back to ignoring us c'mon man we just trigger forever wars in the middle east through manipulating US foreign policy pweez we're just a wittle DC billion dollar lobbying group 🥺
AIPAC is why your fantasy football team stinks. AIPAC is why the weather is bad. AIPAC is why you need an app to park. Say NO to Bernie’s obsessive scapegoating. YES to an America that works with our ally to create U.S. jobs, keep America safe, and promote democratic values.

This is a good example of why Georgism is superior to socialism/communism. The cause of all inequality is in the private ownership of natural resources and land. Capital is by definition reproducible meaning its interchangeable and elastic in supply. The monopoly of land is not

The food truck is made at, say, a factory. They get the food truck through some sort of distributive mechanism, either democratically or merit based. If the food truck fails, the venture folds and the risk is absorbed by the community. The risk does not disappear or cease to be a signal

The food truck is capital. The site it parks on is not. The owner of the food truck should collect the entire income his business makes. The rent paid to park on the land should be to the community treasury to cover public expenses like roads, utilities, schools, healthcare etc

You know what won't leave in response to a hefty tax on its value (in reality and in theory)?
Very funny that billionaires are like “I am leaving”. And Zucman’s response is “sorry no, my theory doesn’t allow this”

One of the things about talking about landlords is that selling location is bundled in their business of selling the improvement & property manager services, so libertarians put them all into the voluntary bucket, when they should be separated and taxed accordingly (100% and 0%).

Land value is publicly created. Taking some of that to pay us dividends gives everyone a stake in the success of our economy.

The 'R' in #ATCOR stands for #Rent 'Out of which All Taxes Come'. Professor Gaffney's acronym reveals the workings of public revenue and our option to collect only non-produced wealth (natural resource and location rent) instead of taxing productivity (work, trade, improvements).

This is an important example when people say "land value tax can't generate enough revenue". LVT is the leader of the pack of related public revenue sources derived from natural resource usage. All taxes on human labor and productive buildings and technology can be abolished
One of the most popular & successful programs of all time: Alaska's universal dividend paid to all residents every year. They agreed that natural resources are the common wealth of the people and should benefit all current & future generations. Canada should learn from this.

BREAKING: America’s $1.7 trillion auto loan market is headed for a crash, per Reuters. Auto loans are now one of the biggest sources of household debt, bigger than credit cards. And the strain is showing: 1 in 5 Americans is behind on at least one loan, the highest since 2010, and the average car on the road is now nearly 13 years old, a record.

We built a country that looks like this over the last 70 years to force people to buy a product that’s bankrupting them.
