And it has never been different
We are constantly told how evil Vladimir Putin is and that he cannot be trusted. But then I see this 2013 interview with Piers Morgan, in which Bill Clinton stated that Putin had honoured all the agreements they had made, saying, "He kept his word on all the deals we had made"

Mattias Desmet (@DesmetMattias), Belgian professor of clinical psychology and author of The Psychology of Totalitarianism, analyzes how propaganda becomes effective once loneliness and free-floating anxiety have prepared a population to accept it. He argues that the rapid shift from the COVID narrative to the Ukraine war demonstrates the mechanism of mass formation, and that only a minority willing to keep speaking out can prevent the process from reaching its most destructive stage. “I do believe that modern democracy actually from the beginning was a state system where propaganda was the organizing principle. Modern geopolitical leaders have a huge machinery at their disposal, like the internet, to manipulate public opinion. That’s one important aspect of propaganda. But there is a second one. You need a population who buys into it, and to do that you need a lonely population. The Corona narrative was dominant at the psychological level in Western culture. Then suddenly the war in Ukraine started, and almost overnight you could see how the Corona narrative lost its power at the beginning of 2022. The Ukraine narrative, which in many respects I do believe was as absurd as the corona narrative, replaced that function. People found a new object of anxiety, and all the anxiety, frustration, and aggression switched from the corona virus to Putin. In the same way, we could see that first people were willing to self-sacrifice to fight the corona virus, and then in the same strange way they were willing to self-sacrifice to fight Putin. There is always a group of people, usually small, which is resilient to it and doesn’t fall prey to the mass formation. There are always three groups. You have one group who is really in a hypnotic stage, hypnotized by the mass formation. That’s about 30% usually. That’s the really totalitarian group—the group who really believes and blindly buys into the narrative. Then there is a very large second group, 50–60% of the people, who know that there is something wrong with the narrative but who will remain silent because they want to choose the easy way. And then there is a very small group of people, between 1% and 10%, who see that there is something wrong with the mainstream narrative and who choose to speak out, who refuse to remain silent. Gustav Le Bon remarked something very important. He said that when a mass formation emerges, there is always a group of people who try to speak out and who try to wake up the masses. They will usually be very disappointed, because they will see that the people don’t want to wake up, that they want to continue to buy into the narrative, and that they even become very aggressive against those who speak out. He mentioned this already in his seminal work The Psychology of the Crowd, but he also notes that this group of people, even when it doesn’t succeed in waking up the masses, nevertheless has a very important effect. When these people continue to speak out, the mass formation usually will not go deeper, and it will not go to the last stage where the masses start to destroy everyone who doesn’t go along with them. When this group chooses to continue to speak out, no matter whether the masses wake up or not, the mass formation usually won’t go to the ultimate and destructive phase.” The danger is not only propaganda from above, but a population conditioned to accept it. The duty of those who recognize the manipulation is to keep speaking out, even when the majority refuses to listen.

Remember when even liberals used to acknowledge the nazi problem in Ukraine? They used to acknowledge it even while still condemning Putin. But at some point in 2022 the entire Democratic Party apparatus received the order to deny the nazism problem in Ukraine and gaslight the American people about it

BREAKING: Just weeks before the midterm elections, President Trump is weighing potential replacements for Chief of Staff Susie Wiles as political rivals seize on her daughter’s foreign lobbying ties.

Yes
Trump built a durable coalition that would have ruled for 25 years. No other Republican could have done it. Then we did a regime change war in the Middle East 😔

Funny stuff, and sadly accurate.
The entire covid saga summed up in less than 2.5 mins. Absolutely on the money, and hilarious AF 😭👌🏻⚡️

The land of the free.
Today the Comptroller of the Currency issued a report that concluded that the nine largest banks debanked customers because of their political beliefs. That's nothing. In my case, it was the U.S. government itself that debanked my entire bank because of my political beliefs. They then used the shutdown to falsely claim my bank was facilitating tax evasion and money laundering, so they could claim credit for putting a stop to nonexistent criminal activity.

Only Victoria Nuland and John Mccain can do that
Zelensky: Not Trump, not Musk, not anybody in the world can choose the president of Ukraine. It’s the people of Ukraine that can do that.

NATO was preserved in 1991 to promote war against Russia. The Russian peace accord proposed in November 2021 was rejected in December 2021 because peaceful coexistence was never acceptable to US, UK, or EU when $75 trillion in resources are the prize at stake in this war.
Replying to @ivan_8848
Ukraine began hosting NATO exercises in 1995 and has never stopped. Since the 1990s, Ukraine has been a NATO staging ground for the war against Russia. There will be no ceasefire. The Russians can't trust the West. The war will end when Ukraine surrenders and NATO is humiliated.

I don't recall a single occasion in 2016 or after when possible Russian interference in the Brexit referendum was discussed at the British Embassy in Moscow. @andyburnham needs to focus on sorting out the country's problems not acting as a ventriloquist dummy for UKIC.
Burnham first PM to confirm Kremlin role in Brexit vote The prime minister has revealed UK authorities told him there was ‘clear evidence’ that Moscow meddled in the referendum ✍️ @CatNeilan bit.ly/4yHJ31j

What are western values? Money, greed, resources, power.
Nicolás Maduro is being kept in solitary confinement, locked in a 6ft by 10ft room for more than 23 hours a day All because he wouldn't let Donald Trump steal Venezuela's oil The silence from the international community is deafening They don't care about US/Israeli War Crimes

The Russia hoax just won't die.
A UK Parliamentary inquiry did a sweeping review of Russia's supposed hand in Brexit and came up with nothing. Unless you want to count RT spending over $1,000 on Twitter ads to promote its Brexit coverage to UK-based viewers. Or Facebook reporting a Russian troll farm spending a grand total of 97 cents spent on three ads, all about immigration and not even mentioning Brexit. Since 2016, the NATO elite has waged a concerted disinformation campaign to blame Russia for populist rebukes. This comment follows in that tired tradition:

If you don’t believe me that peace was possible, take it from Zelensky negotiator Oleksandr Chalyi, who participated in peace talks with Russia in March-April 2022: “We managed to find a very real compromise. So Putin really wanted to reach some peaceful settlement with Ukraine. It’s very important to remember.” Every proxy war cheerleader wants that forgotten.

Zero accountability too
See, they have zero awareness of how much they've betrayed America. ZERO.

I don't think Ukraine did, or does, anything without Nato support.
So now it's OK to say that Ukraine bombed Nord Stream, the biggest terrorist attack to European energy infrastructure ever?

He's going to sink the entire GOP.
Trump is campaigning in Tennessee, telling more lies about how the U.S. economy is doing better now than ever before. Yet consumers are more worried now than they've been in the 75 years of data collection. lies may delight his base, but they'll anger voters who know the truth.
