How is it unfair for airlines to have to upgrade their essentially defective altimeters that receive radio energy 100s of MHz away from the altimeter band, while 5G base stations, thanks to filters, emit virtually no energy in the actual altimeter band.

The elephant in the room #FAA5G is that radio altimeters require 600 - 800 MHz of spectrum (incl GBs) to provide a service that can pulled off in less than one MHz.
Radio altimeters are the most inefficient, most costly, and most embarrassing tech devices in service today.
