We call on France to exercise restraint when dispersing the freedom fighters on the streets of Paris. These brave warriors for justice must receive immediate humanitarian aid, and their safety must be guaranteed in accordance with international law. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to bring a case before the ICJ, in close cooperation with that renowned champion of human rights, Afghanistan.

40 years since making The Color of Money. I had the privilege as a young artist, to have a general meeting with Paul Newman and separately with Martin Scorsese years before making this film, where they shared some of their wisdom on cinema. Of course, I’d seen their films, but prior to meeting them for the first time, I set up a personal study course where I would watch their films in sequence from the beginning of their careers, up until that point in time. After being cast in The Color of Money, I once again studied all of their films in sequence. Having studied their work, then being able to see firsthand these incredible artists, the towering legends of our field, at work on set, I was able to observe their practical application in every aspect of acting and filmmaking from their point of view. I will always be grateful for this opportunity and for the generosity that Newman and Scorsese showed me with their knowledge of cinema and insight throughout the entire process. To Marty, Paul, and the enormously talented cast and crew, it was a pleasure and an honor to be part of this film with you all! I have carried this experience and knowledge with me my entire career.

This is Najmeh Amini, 23. The Islamic regime has sentenced her to death by hanging for an Instagram post. Her life can still be saved.

I don't agree with Graham Carey's language and the context in which he made them made it worse. But two years for this is insanity. If he'd had 1500 images of the most vile child abuse imagery, he'd be a free man. If he'd actually assaulted somebody, he'd not have gotten this long. And of course that's the point, and everyone knows that is the point. Pour encourager les autres. Meanwhile, you've a senior AIG executive still apparently under investigation for hateful comments about Jews that appeared on his feed. An investigation going on months at this stage in the hope that people will forget. I can guarantee there won't be a criminal incitement prosecution taken over THAT. It's a two tier justice system.
An Irish truck driver has been jailed for two years for calling refugees "rape-fugees" and saying "they're here to rape women and children" during an Instagram livestream. He made the comments amid protests over the sexual assault of a woman in Dublin. noticer.news/ireland-graham-…

This hero’s name is #MajidNikAndish. He was a soldier who refused to shoot at people during Iran’s January massacre. 72,000 were killed in two nights. They hanged him a few days ago. Hours before they killed him, he wrote his mom with that dark humor: “Tonight I feel like a little kid scared of a needle.” Never look away from Iran💔

May God bless his soul.
Today we remember Sir David Amess, who was murdered five years ago today. A man of faith and strong advocate for those Christian principles he held so dear, we continue to remember him and his legacy. Read @TDieppe's reflection article written at the time 👇

I very highly recommend visiting the UK's great cathedrals, e.g. Lincoln and Durham. I did so earlier this year and find myself reminiscing about them quite frequently. Some of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

Completely heartbreaking. What must Najmeh and so many thousands of innocent Iranian kids like her be thinking about the total lack of interest among the social justice warriors and pontificating celebrities in the west. Or when they see all those feeble minded westerners plodding along on mass marches surrounded by the very flag of their oppressors. It’s just so shameful and pathetic
Hello everyone, this is a message from inside prison, from a young Iranian woman who is about to be executed. Please help me to amplify her voice before they hang her. 💔 «Remember my name, maybe I will not be able to speak again.» This is the voice of Najmeh Amini, a 23 year old accounting student, speaking from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. In her voice message she says: «Be my voice. I am an innocent girl, a young woman full of hopes and dreams.» Najmeh is one of the detainees of the January uprising . She spent months in detention without a verdict, denied access to a lawyer of her choice and pressured during interrogation. In August, her trial was held at the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad on charges of «assembly and collusion» and «insulting sacred values.» She said in her voice message that her death sentence was issued on September 16, 2026. In her own words: «People, I only want justice and the chance to defend myself.» And this is her dream: «Before the rope ends my life, let me see my Iran prosperous and free.» Be her voice and all of political prisoners, especially those at risk of execution. #NajmehAmini #StopExecutionsInIran

Two women on death row in Iran have recorded audio messages from their prison cells and asked the free world to save their lives. Now I bring their voices to you. Najmeh Amini is 23. An accounting student. Her crime? A post on social media. The regime calls it insulting the prophet. For one post, they will hang her. Mahboubeh Shabani is 33. During the protests, she carried wounded demonstrators to the hospital. Her crime? Saving lives. The regime calls it waging war against God. For saving lives, they will hang her. Let me be honest. Hashtags and tweets alone will not stop these executions. This regime only understands pressure. So I call on American, European, and world leaders: make these executions your red line. Tie every sanction, every deal, every negotiation to the lives of political prisoners. Demand their release now. Impose real costs for every hanging. Najmeh Amini and Mahboubeh Shabani must not die for the crime of freedom. Act now. Before it is too late.

I'm glad that the Camas Cross Country debacle is getting the attention it deserves, but for anyone who might be a bit new to the issue, this has been going on for a while, and many girls have had no support in similar situations. For example, in 2024, a boy named Lukas Willaert aka "Luz" decided he was going to switch from the boy's to the girls' cross country and track and field teams in the middle of his junior year at Rochester Mayo High School in Minnesota. In an almost identical situation, Willaert went from finishing in 108th place at the Rochester All City Championships in the boy's JV race to finishing in 6th in the girls' JV race the following season. At the Big 9 Conference Championships, he went from 263rd in the boys' race to 39th in the girls'. In the single 400 meter race Willaert ran in the girls' division, he placed 1st. He had not had a single 1st place finish in the boy's division. Willaert said this of his switch: “It’s much nicer running on the girls team, just because it feels much more like I’m in the right place."
