The UK government seems blissfully unaware of the damage this will do to the future of physics in the UK. Trust in a research system takes decades to build, but can be lost remarkably quickly. It starts with losing the next generation of researchers
🚨 69% of UK early-career researchers in particle physics, astronomy & nuclear physics plan to leave the country for their next job.
Simon Williams and I spoke to @timeshighered about our latest survey and the consequences of STFC cuts for UK science.

I am The Great Paddini.
Look into my eyes…
Now… do you feel it?
Gottagetahoundosis.
I’ve passed it to you.
You’re now imagining a long nose in your home - with cheese.
Already have one?
You may be imagining another, preferably with cheese.
Now pass it on…
Let’s help more hounds find homes this year. 🐾
I shall now make myself disappear.
Under my blanket..

Independent retail is a precious thing. This is Ooshke in Kyle of Lochalsh, beside the Skye bridge. I’m so happy they stock my work alongside other makers of ceramics, knitwear and contemporary jewellery.

Coffee time.
I’m seriously thinking no one is interested. I can’t even get a 100 followers in a week. Other folk who haven’t been hacked are using my old site as a repository of paintings for their site
I’m choosing the best art and I don’t think folk are interested anymore. .I’ll not stop but I’m so tired of getting nowhere.
Fewer posts. I’m very sad and upset.

All the leaves are brown
and the sky is grey.
I've been for a walk,
our balls are cold today.
They'd be dry and warm
if they were in L.A.

I appear to be FOUR humans away from 74,000 followers. 😳🐾
FOUR.
Could someone please go and find them?
Check behind the sofa. Check the fridge. Check the railway station.
There must be four spare humans somewhere.

Come and join our rangers for a hedgelaying taster day 🌳
You'll be introduced to the tools that you use, why we do hedge laying, how this method restores hedgerows to their full glory, how you make the cuts and how to stake and bind the hedge together.

Night night sweet dreamies
Some days you’ll have the strength to take on the world.
Other days, you’ll need to curl up, shut the world out for a little while and just rest.
Both are okay.
Learning to listen to yourself, rather than always pushing through, is important.
